I have two FN SPR A1 rifles and one FN SPR A1a left in stock and ready to ship.FN A1 Special Police Rifles have a 20"(A1a) or 24" 4 GR 1/12 twist heavy countour chrome-lined barrel. They feature a McMillian A3 tactical fiberglass stock with four flush cups and one sling stud for bipod. , FN gunbook and cable lock.
Brand new FN SPR sniper rifles available in .308 caliber in both 20" and 24" barrel lengths. These have quite a few more features than the previous model.
4140 Chrome-moly steel and is cold rotary hammer forged
Barrels are FN heavy police countour. Beginning at 1.125" at the chamber end for a distance of 1.5" with a straight taper to .920" at the muzzle. The 20" barrel has the same taper specifications
Bore and chamber are Mil Std hard chrome plated prior to being assembled with the receiver. The hard chrome plating increases barrel life (est 17,000 rounds) while reducing wear and decreasing maintenance requirements.
.308 rifles have 4 groove right hand 1 in 12" twist.
The muzzles crown is counter bored to a diameter of .560. It is recessed to a depth of .050 with a 45 degree by .045 chamfer.
The chambers have a match specification of 1.630 min to 1.631 max on the .308
The cartridge seat is polished to provide consistent contact between the cartridge case and bolt face during chambering and firing. This ensures that the cartidge is fully seated and stays supported while the round is fired.
Bolts are manufactured by milling process rather than casting to ensure consistent retention of the blueprint specs and the ability to achieve tighter tolerances
The barrel and receiver are black oxide coated, which provides a resilient finish that is a long lasting and provides protection in harsh environments. A Mil Std Phosphate coating will be available as an option for future applications.
USARAC has developed a machined 1PC steel trigger guard/floorplate for the DBM model, which incorporates a larger trigger bow and a protrusion to protect the magazine release button.
USARAC has developed the SHFP (steel hinged floorplate) a new machined 1pc steel trigger guard/floorplate which also has the same oversized trigger bow
The steel trigger guard/floorplate allows the action to retain the specified torque increasing accuracy and reliability by providing a solid, uniform surface against which the action is qulled into the stock
The new trigger guard/floorplate design alo protects the trigger from being inadvertently contacted during operational movement, preventing unintended discharging of the weapon.
Enlarged ejection port opening assists in loading process as well as the ejection of the casing either fire or not
By drilling and tapping the sight base holes to the larger #8-40 UNEF-2B diameter, a solid mounting platform is established for the optic during operational deployment as well as under constant recoil, this ensures that the weapon maintains sight retention
The feed ramp, receiver rails and cocking piece are polished in order to ensure full surface contact as well as smooth operation during chambering and extraction
The bolt locking lugs are lapped with the receiver in order to achieve 100% contact to avoid setback during the break-in period. This adds to the longevity and reliablilty of the weapon system
New action screws will maintain the same geometry as the current screw head yet they will have hex head instead of the previous slotted head type, these afford the ability to get consistent tool contact during torquing.
This allows the action position in the stock to be consistent and create a stable platform, which will increase the accuracy of the weapon
The safety and sear surfaces are polished in order to ensure positive, consistent engagement with full surface contact
The triggers sear contact surface is polished for clean contact engagement and disengagement. This provides a crisp clean trigger break.
A new MIM trigger assy is installed to achieve a chisp clean trigger break. The new trigger assy affords the weapon the ability to achieve a 4.0 lb min/ 4.5 lb max trigger pull, which will, when droped repeatedly from a height of 5+ feet fail to fire (which surpasses SAAMI specs)
The addition of the MIM allows a more consistent trigger pull
