Hey all, we have a member who makes some kydex sheaths and whatnots. On Sunday Thomas and I went to the gun show in Nashvegas and when we got done I invited myself over to his house to make some stuff.
We made three things:
neck knife sheath
pocket tool sheath
ear muff clip
Here is a review of the neck knife sheath, and pocket tool sheath.

I have listed the urls for the images rather than putting them on here. They are large for display purposes.
We started out tossing around ideas on this stuff. I wanted to a horizontal sheath for the pocket tool that would be useful and comfortable for extended wear. The vertical ones are not comfortable when I sit for long periods of time, as my dunlop, dunlaps too much. I wanted a pop out not a slide out type of sheath for the pocket tool. Thomas put together one that while it worked well under testing I felt that it would not hold the tool securely enough for my tastes. Well, back to oven we went. Here is what we came up with.

I have worn it extensively and have found it to be very comfortable. The presentation is quick, and holstering it is fairly quick, but that is an "admin" process and don't feel that needs to be as quick. Here is a vid.

Once we were done with that sheath we moved on to the neck knife sheath. I have MANY knives but my favorite EDC (Every Day Carry) is the Emerson Mini CQC-7, I prefer the spear point. Well, as a future teacher I can't carry in the open and didn't like having it all the way down in my pocket so I wanted a neck sheath. I've carried neck knives before and like the fact that you can have them with you at all times. Well, I had an idea on that as well.
This sheath is extremely good at retention while allowing pulling and sheathing with ease.

After we were done with this, we moved on to making a muff holder. I have electronics, but when it's hot, I need to take them off. We don't have any pics, and I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but I'm sure they will work.
Thomas will be doing custom sheaths for the tools and knives for a VERY modest cost.
I believe he said $7 for the knife and tool sheaths, and $2 for the muff holder. Of course the customer would have to pay shipping at those low costs it would be crazy for him to pay that. Until his gets some molds for the knives and tools the customer will have to check to see if he has the knife for molding. He is also going to make keyring type holders for the small knives and flashlights that clutter your pockets.
