Guess what… I have one more very nice "US Property" marked, Savage made, matched
serial numbered bolt & receiver, Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1* that I have decided to sell. Like the one I sold earlier, this one was a “handpicked” rifle from SOG that I have refinished & will describe below. Buying this rifle allows you to get your hands on one of these outstanding rifles without having to “try your luck” and worry about what shape it will be in when it arrives. Just browse the pictures below. The one I am selling here has been completely cleaned of all cosmoline, the stock has been degreased (boiling water, citris degreaser, & steel wool), all possible dents raised, final rub-down with v. fine bronze wool, and finished with 7 coats of BLO (bronze wool rub-down inbetween coats), and a final hand-rubbed finish using Dem-Bart Waxylene Gun Stock Wax. I left enough “beauty marks” to leave the character or the wood, but also smoothed, oiled, and buffed it enough to bring out it’s outstanding grain (take a look at the pics – it’s very nice). Also, as you can see, I didn't need to mess with the bluing on this one as it is in very nice condition and the few wear marks and such also add to it's mystique. (That said - If you as a paid buyer desire, I will touch-up some of these before shipping - let me know when you send $$.) The bore and crown on this rifle are both very good. All parts are marked in one way or another with Savage proof stamps, except for the magazine (as far as I can tell – and I did visually inspected most if not all of these parts when I took it apart to clean them. Also, the magazine is unmarked, but fully functional. My guess is that it’s a war-time production British mag.). ****Click HERE for PICTURES**** BUT THAT’S NOT ALL FOLKS!!!
:) It will come with a “handpicked” Savage-made spike bayonet/metal sheath. This is a very nice rifle…and importantly, it is one that you KNOW the condition it is in instead of hoping for the luck of the draw on the remaining ones out there...especially when you consider a "hope and see" approach direct from SOG (or others…not to “pick on” SOG at all) will cost you at least $169 + $10 handpick fee + $10 shipping (~ $190)...and I have already done all the "hard work" for you. :)
$225 shipped to your FFL/C&R holder.
USPS money order / Cert. funds only please. Please post here AND email me to claim this.
*By the way… For those of you who would like to see some references concerning the condition of my firearms & stuff for sale, please run a name search for "warriorsociologist" or "rigormootis" (my other screen name) on this and some of our “sister forums” (GlockTalk, TheHighRoad, FalFiles, AR15.com, EBay...) and you will find that I have many YEARS of 100% smooth & happy transactions. Also, please especially see some of my recently refinished “handpicked” C&R rifles that I have sold on the forums: "Schmidt-Rubin K-31 (refinished handpicked) "US Property" Savage Enfield No.4 Mk1* (refinished handpick)
Again, please note that the Savage Enfield for sale here has darker wood than the one in the link above, but it also has a more pronounced grain. My wife & I really like the dark wood on this one.
