I had a non-team member IM me on Friday offering a trade for a CX4 I have up on the EE.
I responded that I was interested, and would like to see pics, which he provided later that evening. After going back and forth with questions for one another through several emails, and a mention of some additional funds going his way to close the trade, everything seemed good to go, and I sent him some additional pics he requested.
I even went so far as to purchase several magazines and ammo for the rifle I was going to be getting at a local gunshow on Saturday thinking we had reached a deal. Upon returning home from the show, I hadn't heard from him so I sent a couple of additional emails (including one with my address information so that he could send his FFL for shipping) with no response. After checking user info here, and seeing that he was on the forums (and making posts), I sent him an IM through the sight.
Today, no response to IM or emails, though I notice he has logged in several times throughout the day, and made a couple of posts. Towards the evening tonight, I went ahead and sent him another IM explaining that I knew he was posting, and that if he was having second thoughts, I would appreciate the courtesy of at least a response so that I could move forward.
He finally responded through the sight that he had second thoughts and after doing some work on the rifle he was offering, decided it was worth more to him that the trade we had agreed upon.
Now, other than the letdown of being offered a trade proposal, accepting it, and then having it fall through, this guy also wasted two days of my time. I'm not worried so much about the magazines and ammo because knowing me, I'll probably eventually own the rifle that fits them. On the other hand, I had marked my item 'trade pending' yesterday (so I might have lost a sale/trade in the meantime).
Is this worth negative feedback, or just a case of extreme tire-kicking ?
