I just got off the phone with Tommy. Since Tommy is banned from this site and, therefore, unable to respond to anything posted about him, I offered to give him somewhat of a voice in this thread. In other words, I will relay some of Tommy's comment.
But, before I do I want everyone to know I've got no dog in this fight. I don't personally know Tommy, although I have done some business with him in the past. At those times I always got good service and advice. On the flip side of that is some of the stories I've heard from people I know and trust. There is no mistaking that Tommy's business went through a bad time. Whether it was because of bad accounting and organization or some other circumstance, the fact remains that Tommy took money for product he could not deliver and the desired product, in this case ammo, is not available. Tommy is not without guilt in this matter. He acknowledges that.
These are the points I'd like to make following our phone conversation.Allow Tommy to respond to threads.
Tommy has no way of addressing any issues. I think Site Staff should unlock the Georgia-Precision account so Tommy can participate in these threads. I don't think the account/Tommy should be allowed to sell anything in the EE at this point in time, but let the man address these issues. Keep people with no "dog in the fight" out of the issue.
People who have no business dealings with GPSS/Tommy shouldn't be starting/jumping into a feeding frenzy. A lot of negative comments are made from people who have never even had business dealings with Tommy. These people are not helping the issue.
Hell, I've been guilty of this myself. When I put myself in AK_Mike's shoes, I'm pissed off. But those negative, "piling on" comments are not constructive and do nothing to help resolve the issue. Tommy's willing to complete the deal with AK_Mike.
AK_Mike, Tommy thought you guys had reached an understanding regarding some of the merchandise he was going to send you. He is still willing to complete that deal as you guys had discussed. He can even ship some of the merchandise this week.
However, he was a bit upset that some information he told you in confidence got posted on the internet. He was really hoping you'd keep what was told you in confidence. (AK_Mike, I'm just relaying what he said. I, obviously, did not hear your conversations.
) BookHound is willing to be an intermediary, if necessary.
Tommy has a lot of merchandise he can't sell because of the bad reputation he's gotten. He is willing to let me be an intermediary for merchandise sales. AK_Mike, if you would rather work through me to receive merchandise or whatever, we can arrange that. It's your call. If site Staff would allow me to sell things in the EE for GPSS until all debit issues are resolved, I'm willing to do that.
So, those are the four points that came out of our conversation. I'm not trying to complicate matters further. I'm trying to help AK_Mike and any others that might be owed money from Tommy recover that debt in the form of money and/or merchandise. I want nothing out of this except for those members owed to be satisfied.
So, what do you think? I'm most interested in AK_Mike's input here, since he is the guy out the money. I don't want to keep beating the dead horse of how we got here. I'd rather we all try to focus on how we get to a resolution.
Over the last year or so I've also gone back and forth with mixed feelings regarding these issues with GPSS.
I've personally done business with Tommy in the past and always got good advice and service. I've also spoken to other people who have experienced some problems.
