Replace brace with TMP brace, scout around for a K rail of some sort for a Perst, and replace the Shield sight with a DPP or T2, though this Shield sight is quite nice. What type of mount is that? Is it DPP or RMR footprint?

Tried the 80 degree locking piece in the AP5-P. Not exactly successful.
Without suppressor: 124gr - about 50% success 150gr syntech - about 0% success With Suppressor (YHM R9) 124gr - about 95% success 150gr syntech - about 5% success The 150gr syntech is pretty low burn. Its like 860fps. So that just might not work at all. I have some 147gr inbound thats 1k fps. Plus I'll be putting the factory locking piece and seeing how that works. I have to say that 150gr syntech is dead quiet. Its sounds like my 22. |

I bought all this equipment. What do you mean that the dead AREN'T coming back to life?
|
Got back to the range this morning. Reinstalled the factory locking piece. Ran 115, 124 and 150s. It ran 100% unsuppressed and suppressed.
So guess the 80 degree locking piece just doesn't work in my gun. |

Looking at either the ptr 9kt or the ap5-p.
I want a sp5k but i’m not paying for a boomers retirement fund via gunbroker. Thoughts on either one, or which you think is better? |

Thoughts on either one, or which you think is better? View Quote I don't have any experience with the AP5-P. It's an import, so the American parts count may make a difference to you, I don't know. It is true to the HK TDP. People with the AP5-P I'm sure will fill you in on it. With the PTR9KT, if you are going to use it as a host, you won't have to do anything with it. SBRing it is a fairly simple process, especially with E Forms. You get a welded rail for optics, if that's important to you. Mine is well assembled, the fit and finish are great, and I have no complaints about it out of the box. If you want to use a stock, heavy projos, or a can you may need to switch out the LP for #28, but that would be the case with any K gun. The potential problem is what brand of LP you use and/or how in spec PTR made your bolt head. There have been some problems reported of RCM LPs not fitting in a PTR bolt head. Some people send the gun back (this is what I did 2 years ago) and some people just stone the locking piece down a little until fits. I don't know if this is still an issue with current/recent production. And if you aren't going to do 80* LP things, then it doesn't matter anyway. PTR was recommending that people use HK LPs, but again I don't know if that "fixed" the issue or not. Since I got mine back, it has run non-stop with 124s, 147s, with a can or without using the #28 LP. I have had zero issues with anything about it, and it is a fun little shooter. It's also surprisingly accurate to most people. I would buy another without question, with the understanding that it (like any other firearm) needs to be checked out first, and HK pattern guns have their own idiosyncrasies and things to know before you start using them. There were QC issues with 9KTs a while back, but I don't know that they are still having them. Look through the board and you should be able to see if there are still a lot of complaints about the 9KT showing up. |

FWIW, I got a reply back from AMS. They still have the patterns, but the owner is out of town until next week. I have to discuss with him. If anyone else here is interested, would be a good time to have them run a batch of them through the factory.

Not really a clone (PTR32), but I think it looks great in the surplus wood furniture. Only negative so far, it only takes Magpul AK mags, which are fine, but I already had a ton of AK mags.

New Modlight Modbutton mount for the MP5 / MP5K platform from Trajectory Arms (turquoise_paintpen).
**No affiliation with Trajectory Arms - Just an FYI for a pretty rad and innovative product - Do your DUE DILIGENCE** There are two versions but only had time to mock up this one. MP5 MP5 / MP5K Version 1 - MP5/ MP5K Version 2 - MP5 - This one is shown with my Surefire M63 handguard but will work with my Cadex handguard (Above images) as well, which sits much closer to the cocking tube. |
