About 15 days until I can get a full refund from Bud's. I'd rather ponder what I should get with that money than when, or if, PTR and Buds will ship me a rifle.
|
|
If you wanna get a refund just get it. But there is no reason to believe that the rifles won’t be built and shipped, PTR is a reputable company. |

PTR already said the hold up is on their end.
The shitty part is the entire lack of communication from Buds. That pisses me off more than anything. You try to call them, they still don't/won't give out any information. That's no way to run a business, especially factoring the scale of customers who put in pre-orders. |
|
Though I’m only a bystander, I seriously doubt this is going to become another Desert Tech MDR fiasco. Bud’s and PTR are reputable companies IMO. If I were nervous and wanted to eject I’d request a refund at the appropriate time and chalk it up as a wash. A little communication on either Bud’s or PTR’s part would quell the nervousness. One of them seriously under estimated the tentative ad date of “Late August/Early September” and owes buyers a little communication IMO.
I’d only start to worry, as in the Desert Tech situation, if there’s situations of “your refund is in the mail” followed by “oh! You never got it? It must’ve gotten lost in the mail.” |

Well, if there's cancellations I'm jumping on the ones that free up.
While mine is currently en route back to PTR (mag catch issue, just barely won't accept several HK factory mags but works fine with the 40 and Promags), the rifle itself was put together and finished beautifully and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. |
|
A portion of the issue is the hurricane that hit NC. I think PTR might still be closed down? I called 3 times this week and it went to voicemail every time, even under different extensions to different departments.
|
|
I agree it’s the hurricane. I’ve been through a similar storm and didn’t have power or cell phone service for nearly 30 days. Perhaps a little communication from Bud’s on behalf of PTR would go a long way to settle the nerves of people waiting. Personally, if I were in line I wouldn’t be bothered, I highly doubt companies like Bud’s or PTR wouldn’t make good on this. Honestly, if they re-opened the buy at this point I’d be really tempted again. If there was a paddle mag release, I would’ve jumped on this deal. I have enough HK parts laying around to set it up to my liking. A $550 roller lock backed buy a lifetime warranty is a rare thing.

I ordered on 7/27 at 20:00 eastern time. I couldn't pass up on a PTR built C93 for $549. Definitely is hard to keep waiting, but I guess I don't have much other option at this point. These are easily $750-800 rifles being built by PTR. Definitely a steal imo.

Emailed PTR today, they said they sent out a shipment on Friday and another yesterday. So buds should be sending out some soon in some random nonsense order.

I'll believe it when I see the tracking number from Bud's.
Edit:....and it looks like that might actually happen today. |

Quoted: I mean that's better than it not arriving. At least it will be waiting for you when you get back. View Quote It sounds as if they have their shipping order fixed! Lots of 27ers receiving notices today. On the 27th I talked myself out of ordering saying I didn't need one but the morning of the 28th I had come to my senses |

Ordered on the 27th and got my shipping notification today as well. Started ordering some more stuff to arrive around the same time as the rifle hopefully. Bipod, latest mag catch, clipped and pinned navy style trigger housing.
Already have some magazines and the parts to install the paddle release that I ordered months ago... |
|
My rifle is on the way back to me as well. Hoping they were able to figure the issue out.

None left unless someone cancels their order (which could happen starting an a week or so due to that being 90 days, when buds issues a full refund of you want it).
Here's a link to pictures someone took of theirs https://imgur.com/a/JnFYzfw |

Finally shot my first 93 I received in August. I ran 120 rounds through her and used HK 30, ProMag 20, and the 40 Alum. that came with it with no issues. I fired Fed. M855 and she ran flawlessly. The HK30 was hard to insert before, but loosened up after a few dozen rounds. Overall I am very pleased and she is a sweet shooter. I just received notification that my second one has moved to shipping.

Just received notice my order has moved to shipping. Ordered early in the morning of 28th.

Mine's still just sitting with "Reserve Order" status as well. Ordered on the 29th. Guess it will get here eventually.

I am not worried about when it gets to me. It will eventually. |

I sent mine back to PTR (they paid shipping both ways) because HK 30s and one 40 I picked up elsewhere did not lock in (just barely). They adjusted it and sent it back with a 2 day turnaround and now all mags lock in. I have not tested it yet but there's no reason it shouldn't work.
The Promag did fit out of the box. FWIW, this apparently was a common problem with C93 receivers. Contact PTR CS and they'll take care of it. |
|
Not too thrilled with that hollowed out shelf. I wonder if a paddle mag will still be able to be installed?
Hard to tell, but it looks like the paddle wont have any metal to butt up against and will flap around. |

Picked mine up today at lunch. Looks nice, very clean PTR finish.
For the price, it looks better than my original C93. I'll transfer my upgraded stock, handguards, lower, and flash suppressor from the old to the new and it'll be even betterer. ETA - Mag well was totally fine. Not sure what I was doing earlier. MKEs still don't fit though. |
