Looking at using these on my MKE.

Palmetto State Armory Deal

ETS has their clear mp5 mags coming soon...should only be another month or so, and they'll be way less expensive than the $49.99 steel ones on PSA. From what I understand, that is a decent deal on those mags...but I'd rather have ETSs for half the cost.

Ah...good point...but weren't they supposed to be out back in May?  Don't they just keep delaying?  I know, I know,...be patient...tough to pass on a good deal, though.

They are a relatively small company, and recent efforts have been on getting their pistol/rifle mag loaders to market. Now that that's done, it's all hands on deck for mp5 mags. Shouldn't be much longer.

For real HK mags, that's a pretty good price. But for the money, I'd buy these:
http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-accessories/pof-mp5-30-rnd-mags-2-pack-detail.html?Itemid=0

They work great and are much cheaper.

These are a bargain, those POF mags have been 100% reliable for me.

Somebody needs to. I know HK's need welded so assembly drives the cost up BUT DANG.  AR's can be purchased for $400 and are actually made from harder to produce receivers. HK's could likely be made and sold for a similar price to an AR but somehow crazy overpriced guns still remain the norm.

Even PTR's are about half the price of MP5's and they are .308 and still overpriced.  Just shows how silly the prices on 9mm are.

Take a look at the South Korean mags imported by ATI.  I bought them cheap and stacked them deep and have thousands of rounds in full auto through them.

That is an excellent deal for new German magazines.

The POF magazines work really well too, but fit inconsistently in the gun; some fit normally, others are tight, while some are way too tight. The complex metal forming around the magazine catch area of the MP5 magazine results in an unwanted protrusion of metal on the POF magazines. This protrusion is variable in dimension, with some magazines having it worse than others. That protrusion rubs the inside of the magazine well, resulting in varying levels of binding.

The German MP5 magazines do not have that manufacturing flaw, and have a consistently good fit in the gun.

My assessment is based on six German "date coded" (mid 1980's) magazines and six POF magazines from RTG Parts, tested in one MKE Z-5RS.

I gave $30/each for the POF magazines and $50 to $55/each for the German magazines. I'll be selling the POF magazines at some point, while the Germans are keepers. At $50/each for new German magazines, I would say it's "FO TIME" if you want any MP5 magazines.

Omega's can be had around $1500, the amount of work required to correctly build a roller locker gun is not even comparable to a ar platform or even building an AK from a flat.

I have an ATI-imported MKE AT-92, and the Korean mags are the most problematic of the bunch for me.  They don't lock in well, and when they do they're at a weird angle which induces FTFs.  HK mags (both curved and straight) and POF mags work like a champ.

I have about 8 of the Korean ATI mags, from around 2010 when they were advertised as some improved generation, and they work great. Some were not 100% at first, but I rubbed them all down with CLP and 0000 steel wool to smooth the park when I first got them, and never had a malfunction afterwards. I got the inside using a dowel and dried the oil with rags. (Smoothing the outside just made them prettier.) They were $15.99 back then. Some guys have reported their springs wear out quicker than HK mags, but I haven't worn any out yet.

The one MKE mag I have has been 100% for 6 years.

The description is different for this ad and the Manufacturer listed is NULL. There's a thread on these mags over on HKPro.com and some people are saying they called Palmetto and were told these were aftermarket mags and not H&K. I placed an order before realizing that and have since messaged their customer service dept asking about the mags. I'll let you know what they tell me.

The POF mags I have, 15 and 30 rounders, have functioned flawlessly in my POF MP5k clone.

Thanks for the info...I ordered a couple, too, and it said "HK Factory" on the page where they were listed.

I'm also interested to see if they're really HK or aftermarket. Hope I can cancel if it turns out they're aftermarket...

According to the thread over at HKPro, depending on who you talk to at PSA you may get conflicting answers.

People have called and been told they're HK factory mags, and other people have been told the manufacturer is unknown.

This is the response I got from Dylan D. with Customer Service from PSA:

"Hello,

These are actual H&K magazines, or they are delivered to us directly from H&K, but there is not a "date stamp" on these magazines."

I'm pretty sure they're HK factory mags. PSA gets a lot of shit from HK for cheap. The SP5K mags I think are made specifically for the civilian market rather than being LE/Mil mags.

I received 2 from the first sale yesterday. They are factory HK and really nice mags. Lock up tighter than any other mags I have.

Received my 5 mags from the first deal.  Factory HK mags.  Maybe they'll get some more in stock soon.

Rx'd mine today from PSA, marked Made in Germany 9mmx19.  There where not in the HK bags but loose.  These where from the second sale.

This thread is pertinent to my interests.  I am going to pick up my Omega on Wednesday or Thursday, when it arrives at my FFL.  It only comes with one magazine, and what's the fun in that?

There's a regular dealer at my local gun show who has Korean magazines for all sorts of guns, including MP5s, so I assume those are KCI (is there any other "Korean magazine brand"?).  The ETS magazines are apparently out, but they're out of stock everywhere I can find them listed.

Has anyone tried the MKE plastic magazines?  They seem to be available (at HK Specialist anyway).

...so sites that say they're out of stock really just have placeholders on their pages, and are trying to be ahead of the game.  Got it.
