Is there a way to convert an MP5D to .45 easily??

Rumor is that there is a conversion kit out there for this?!?!

You would need a new silencer, which is a Title 2 firearm.

Easily?  No.

Requires a new barrel, bolt (possibly carrier too), ejector, magwell work, lower mods and, suppressor.

Who's floating this "rumor" ?

The .45 cal "MP5's" that I have seen are from Special Weapons and they were built on the same receivers as the Cohaire MP5/40/10.  There are so many changes from a 9mm MP5 as Osprey pointed out that it's impossible to have an "easy" conversion to .45.  Just the barrel change makes it impossible to do the conversion quickly or easily.

Maybe this rumor stems from the conversions that people have been doing with USC's to turn them into UMP's?  That is a relatively painless conversion from standard USC to UMP.

That makes more since.

A few people have turned their SBR HK USC/UMPs into .40 models.
