I want the barrel shortened, crowned and threaded on an original HK94. I understand this can be done with or without removing the barrel from the receiver -- without taking the barrel off it requires a sprcial tool. My question is, if it is removed are there likely to be any problems with re-instaling it? Also, anyone know who does this (both ways)?

There are only a couple people who can do it with the barrel still in th eweapon. They have made a jig that holds things just right. Many other people can do it, but they must yank the barrel, do the cut-down, then put the barrel back in. That is a LOT more expensive, but it should end up just fine as long as you use a good HK smith to do it.

Check over on Subguns.com or HKPRO for a listy of smiths who can turn them down without yanking the barrel.

Its either Mark @ARS or Derek @ AZEX that has built something just for theis purpose. I am pretty sure it is Mark.

ARS has the ability to handle it.

M60joe will do it for $118 delivered. Don't know about removing it, though.
