Gen 1+, Russian, 2.8X magnification, 85mm objective, uses 2 AA batteries and has an inverted chevron and a horizon line for a reticle.

You're right. This scope has an auto shutoff feature of some sort when introduced to a quick bright light, but that's a concern of mine also. I wish I could have a flash suppressor on my postban FAL, but that's not going to happen.
This scope normally sits on one of my 10/22s, which has a vortex flash suppressor on it most of the time. I put it on the FAL to see how it felt, and figured I'd take some pics...
