First off to aid in my quest for knowledge i give you this,
hope it helps someone. I did it about a year ago, don't ask for who or why.(I think this is the final revision so everything "should" be correct) So what i want to know is 1) what is the best way to get an FAL, build or buy 2) what parts are hard to come buy 3) what kind of accuracy can i get, are match barrels available 3) cost estimates, is building substantially cheaper than buying 4) special tools 5)....... here is what i want 16 to 18" bbl scope rail railed forend folding stock decent trigger 1MOA accurate Thanks |

I would go with a DSA Para with 18" barrel. However the accuracy of the FAL isn't the greatest, probably will be more like 2 MOA.

Keep an eye open here and at FALfiles for good used ones. I saw a STG-58 matched kit built on a DSA type 2 receiver that was mint go for $950 here today. It's a buyers market and there are deals to be had.

I don't think you're ever going to get 1 MOA, even with match ammunition. At least, I wouldn't bet on it, but anything is possible.

sorry it took me so long to reply, I'm sorry guys I might go with an Armalite AR10
. I love the FAL though its just such a good rig, I'm just OCD about accuracey. Fuck it I'm getting a FAL. How do DSA's stack up? |

If you are looking for 1 MOA you might want to talk to Vandenburg Custom in Houston TX.
