First of all break out $70 bucks and buy the DSA scope mount. The IOR you are looking at is a great scope as are all IOR products. However Leupold, an American company, also make durable scope for your use.

They should work perfectly together. I had considered this et up myself when I was shopping for optics. I use the DSA rail and it is SOLID and went with a Compact ACOG because I didn't want to fiddle with batteries. You'll have basically the same package. Very practical and workable. Slight magnification for scanning and peeking, low power so it's still pretty quick. The best of both worlds for a rifle that is not expected to be a precision shooter.

My buddy has an AZEX STG 58 and it is an awesome piece. You can't go wrong with Derek's work. Beware! The FAL may become your favorite rifle, it has worked it's magic on me.
