I would like to see close up pictures of both a DSA and DCI Type 1 receiver.  I need to know how the factory engraving is done on each receiver.

I am going to have Tom Sawyer Mfg. engrave the Steyr STG 58 makings on the receiver and I need to know what receiver to get.

Thanks

Scott

Looks like the DCI would be the better choice.  Hoever that engraving on the right side will be a problem.

Does anyone know who the DSA and DCI receivers compare with real FAL receivers as far as type of materials?

DCI receivers aren't even in the same ballpark as DSA receivers.

DCI=reverse engineered investment casting.

DSA=hammer forged from original Steyr drawings.

The DSA receiver is superior to original FN, Steyr and Imbel receivers.

then is seems the DSA would be the choice.

The only problem you will have with either of them is finding one.  They are both very good receivers.

Now I don't know how I would get custom engraving on the DSA.

Anyone else have any comments?

YOu should be OK with Dan Coonan's new Type I's that are on the way since they are free from markings on the left as far as I know

Excellent post and question by the way.......I am in the same boat

Spec receiver comes before the engraving.  The DCI is out of the question.

I need to figure out how I'm going to engrave the DSA.
