Is an Iver Johnson carbine milspec, or any good????

Iver Johnson and Plainsfield are about 2 of the best commercial versions of the M1 Carbine.. i believe all the Iver Johnsons used USGI parts (the receiver being the exception of course) until they were bought out by Universal in the 80's and then Universal changed the design too much and made an inferior product...

Actually I think Iver bought out Universal.  No its not mil-spec.  Universals were very hit or miss, mostly miss.  I doubt the Iver's were any better.  Plainfeilds were closer to mil-spec and genereally considered one of the better commercial copies.
