Came across this nice rifle at a local shop, and I think I got a good deal on it. ($1k) Dealer bought it at an estate sale, and the rifle originally came from CMP.

WRA 2,4xx,xxx Ser. Number (1944 production I believe), Springfield rebarrel S-A-2-51. Wood is in good shape, and receiver/bolt and barrel look clean. Can't wait to shoot it!

The barrel is marked S-A-2-51.
Is the 51 the date the barrel was produced?

You did well. I just picked up a WRA 122xxxx Aug ‘42 with USGI wood last week at the south store. I paid the same.
