Where do you get your parts from? I see receivers for sale on the market, but very rarely a parts kit, and they're always expensive. So how do you do it? Piece them together from parts people have been selling in the EE?

You either buy a parts kit or spend years rummaging through parts boxes at gun shows. Some you take in trade or buy it all or nothing deals. Or, you clean out your own parts drawers and miraculously find almost enough parts for another M14. You think to yourself, "where did this stuff come from",  and then you remember that the CMP used to sell parts cheap.

You put all your M14 parts together and try to forget about them. But it eats at you. You resist searching the shows for the rest of the parts. You try not to think about how little it will cost for the rest of the parts if you are a savvy and patient buyer. You ignore all the chatter about the latest and greatest M14 builder.

Then you give in, buy the missing parts and ship them off for the refinish and build.

And that my son is where M14's come from.
