We come into this forum looking for different things, I believe. There are the ardent M1 collectors and shooters. Their interests are markedly different from mine: purely military applications to the M14 in the present day (read Force Modernization guy, here). Then there are the civilians who clamour for M1A-type weapons in myriad permutations for hunting, defense and target use. Would it make sense to have separate forums for the Garand and the M14/M1A-type weapon? I think there is enough discussion traffic to merit this move. Your thoughts, please.

I would go along with that

how hard s it to create another forum? That would allow us to focus on specific discussions.
What a novel idea.
Lets start...

I agree, but suggest we take it one step further.
What's wrong with a Garand Forum, a Carbine Forum and an M14/M1A Forum?

Our just go to Jouster.com - arguably the most frequented M1 Garand board on the internet.

I like the way this is set up right now. It allows me to look for topics on the M1A, M14, Garand or M1 Carbine and I usually stumble across something informative on at least one of the others, if not all of them. Without having to bounce around.

I'd just as soon leave well enough alone. Many of us have Garands, carbines and M-14s. Gives us a bigger pool to play in.

Leave as is. This site is already too fragmented and specific, most of us here are probably into both the Garand and M14, instead of just one or the other.

Same here, but I like seeing them all together in one place as a family.

I kind of like it like this. I like em all so if I come here to see M1A ideas and an M1 garand post catches my eye i'm happy. Little confusion or perception of clutter here on my part. But I'll go along either way.

I agree with separate forums for the M1 Rifle, M1 Carbine and M14/M1A Rifle.

FWIW, I like seeing them together. I suspect that anybody who has interest in one of the three rifles also has at least some interest in the others. I know I do. I don't currently own any of the three (though I have owned a carbine in the past) but am in the market for one or two (if not all three) in the future. I'll probably start with the Garand since they're still affordable but I'm interested in all of them. It's good to at least see the thread titles so I can read things that intrigue me.

The only reason I could see to split them up would be if there was so much activity that it was hard to keep up with the messages. That does not seem to be the case.

Update:

I would support splitting the M1 Rifle, M1 Carbine and M14 type Rifles into
three seperate forums, but keep them mixed together in the photo thread.

I also would rather see them stay together. Makes it easier to browse and sometimes you'll find something of interest that you normally would not find if the forums were split.

Take Care

I already have enough buttons to click. These three (Of which I only have two) go together like PB & J.

I think it should be kept the way it is now.

I wouldn't think that this forum has enough traffic to warrant splitting it into two, or even three seperate forums.
