Do NOT go to the sites below. Yes they have more Ordnance files for you to read. But OH my GOD they talk about books that are for sale on the M1 Garand!!!

That may be the ugliest rifle I have ever seen.

And probably one of the least pleasant to shoot. Short barreled 30.06 with a folding butt stock. That cain't be good...........

Gentlemen,
This folding stock M1 was tested by Ordnance for use in the field by different units. The main problem as some of you have stated was that the folding stock was not strong for combat op's. I only know of one built and it is at SA. During testing we drop the bomb and the war was over.
