It's Garand number two.

Very nice. Which grade/model did you get? I've been thinking about grabbing one of the "correct" H&r's with 80% finish. Garands are amazing weapons. I love AR's and have several, but every time I shoot my Garand I feel like I'm shooting a "man's rifle". There is something special about walnut and forged steel that the aluminum and plastic weapons just don't have.

It's a service grade SA mixmaster.

Congratulations! I just received an email last night from CMP saying they have begun processing my order. Hoping for a couple to show up at my doorstep any day now.

Nice rifle. Congratulations!
If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take after you sent your order in? I'm waiting on one now.

Very Nice!!!

I'd be happy with that!, I ordered the exact same thing, I hope mine looks that good. I'm waiting on mine, my order was sent in Dec but was entered in January. How long did you have to wait for yours?

I wish there was a CMP affiliated club within 30 miles of me.

So if you join, do you still have to attend a shoot somewhere?

If not, this could be my ticket.

I ordered it on Dec 22, I was the 27th person to be put on the 30-90 day delay.
Had I ordered it on Dec 21st I would of had it by Jan 7th.

If you are current or former military or 5-Oh or I think maybe even over 65? you don't have to shoot. If you do have to shoot all you have to do is have a form filled out basicly saying thru some check boxes that you are safe. The form doesn't have to be signed by someone from a CMP affiliated club I don't think. Just a range "official". All of the forms and much more info are on the web site.

There really isn't much of an excuse anymore not to buy a Garand from the CMP unless of course you don't want to. They really have made it simple to do now. It's in their best interest to get them out the door before someone tells them they can't. You can buy 8 a year if you want and an unlimited amout of receivers.

The CMP Formum is helpful too if you have questions on which grade might be right for you etc.

Just Do It.
