Hi everyone, I'm looking to see if you folks can help me out here. I was digging around, looking for folding and collapsing stocks for my M14 and came across this interesting piece. I was wondering if you folks could ID it and throw out a few suggestions on where to look for it. Would love to have one.

Looks like a BM59 folder attached to a G.I. wood stock. Looks well done to boot.

edited to add;

Check Reese Surplus www.reesesurplus.com

The more and more I look at it, I think you're right. It must be a modified BM59 paratrooper stock. How in the hell did they get the stock to form that triangular shape and to close up like that?

That is one of the early Springfield Armory folders that were made with Italian BM59 folding stock mechanism. They are available from time to time and go for quite a bit. Reese Surplus (http://www.reesesurplus.com) has a similar stock for the M1A for considerably less. It doesn't have the angled support tube, just the main tube.

I bought a Berretta BM59 from a friend of mine about four years ago and it came with two stocks. One standard and that one. Its an Alpine folder. Very well made. I believe it will fit the M1A as well.

That little bar that goes to the bottom of the butt stock folds up allowing you to fold the butt stock.

Waz, many thanks. I see that now that the stock is a Beretta Stock. I guess the chances of me finding one are most likely nil. Thank you though.

Actually your chances are quite good if you don't mind having someone fit a BM59 stock to your action...or are good at fitting stocks yourself.

Check reese surplus (as noted above) and also take a peek at the Shotgun News...I have seen adds in there before. Nice stock pics by the way.
