The .22s are tiny compared to the centerfire models, I wouldn't think that would fit.

I put a black HellHound leather wrap on my lever. No pics yet.

No pics yet, but I will be able to join the club this week. I bought a Henry Big Boy X in .357 and .44 and they should both show up on Friday. Pretty excited. The .44 will get my DA Ghost as pretty much a permanent home, and I might order a different 9mm can for the .357.

So I picked up the .357 this morning. The FFL is a solid 45 minute drive, and when I was grabbing a couple things at Walmart my buddy sent me a text and said "hey, I think we have your rear sight." Sure as shit, it had fallen out when they took the rifle from the box to verify the serial. So that ticked me off. On a high note, the rest of the rifle is sweet and the action is really nice. The trigger is pretty decent, too.
He sent me a picture of the rear sight and the setscrew was clearly not tightened down at all. But I still question either the dovetail or the sight itself. So you guys with Big Boy X models, is the rear sight somewhat loose in the dovetail without tension from the setscrew? |

Is that the OD green cerakote dilly? Did you make any additional updates prior to the photo shoot, ie QD cups for the Magpul sling? Would love to see a preview. |

It's still in the same configuration as when Posted with the exception of the sling. I replaced it with a blue force gear traditional rifle sling that works a lot better.

As stated before. I have a threaded Marlin 1894 in 357 magnum. I’ve never been fond of the finish.
I will be sending a pistol to Ford to get matte chromed. I’m wondering if I should also send in the rifle. As everyone knows, shipping a gun is a significant percentage of the total price. Putting another gun in there would be fine. |

I picked up a few Streamlight Polytacs on sale. One's going on an AR and I want to put the other on my Henry X, onto the M-Lok slot. What's the most compact way of doing this? Should I go with a pistol light on an M-Lok rail instead?

My only MLOK-equipped rifle is a Scorpion carbine, on which I have a short rail section and an Inforce WML on the 11 o clock slot, but that works because the handguard is long enough (unlike my 1894, where the top rail ends before the handguards, requiring some out of the box thinking to accomplish). |

Thanks guys! I was thinking split rings with one side screwing into the slot. I ordered an Odin Works mount for an AR that came today, I tried it on the .44. Might be too high? That front sight really pops when it's illuminated.

More importantly, how does it feel to you? If you are comfortable with it and can maintain control of everything, then I say run with it. Rifle looks good, by the way! I'm definitely digging those fiber optics. Might have to consider something like that for my Marlin Darks. Hmmm... God Damn It. Here we go again. |

The wood turned out awesome. You put a lot of work into this and it definitely shows. Well done. The slight cant to your sights could also be due to your clamp-on red dot mount being uneven and making things appear worse than they are. Remove the mount and see if this helps any when looking down iron sights only. (My guess is it will a little.) You can then look for an alternative red dot mount that is a little more level. The way it is now would bother me at first, but ultimately I'd get over it. Even Marlin and Henry dovetail cuts can be off ever so slightly, from time to time. As long as the rifle holds zero, shoot the shit out of it and more importantly... Have fun! |

If it wasnt accurate I would be doing something about it. But I will definitely get over it. The sights are definitely canted though. I installed the iron sights first and noticed it the second I looked down them. I hadnt even test fit the rail at that point. After I realized the sights werent right I dry fit the mount 6 or 7 times trying to get it level before using the epoxy and it just wasnt happening. So I got it as close as I could. So far I'm the only one it bothers |

Ha, thanks for the help with the image.
Yeah. I CAD'd the foreend. It attaches using the two screws that hold the bottom pic rail. Its a temporary solution and is too bulky, but I haven't figured out the best way to replace it with an aluminum one since there's not one being sold for the 464's. So far its held up, but I would imagine it's the first thing that will break on the rifle. |
