My question is - Can I just purchase the Rattler hand-guard and throw that on my Virtus and be good to go or would the windows not line up? So, Rattler handguard won’t work on your Virtus (reason being, the top rail of the Rattler upper/chassis is shorter than that of the Virtus) |

Ah, OK. Well that sucks... IMO a silly decision on Sig's part to change the design of the Rattler just enough so that the Virtus hand-guards won't fit... I went ahead and just purchased the MI 6in hand-guard instead. Thanks for getting back to me bro.

Coregon will the BCM PNT trigger work in an MCX rifle?
What about the ALG ACT trigger? Thanks! @coregon |

I have an ALG that I use with my mcx upper just fine.
What part is it that breaks again? The trigger pin? Isn't there a part to swap out from the duo match set that resolves the issue? |

Is the MCX Noctis sold by Cabelas/BassPro the same as the Virtus? The look identical from the website with the Noctis claiming to be an exclusive.

Is the Cabelas price pretty common? It looks like the price is trending down, finally.
Now damn it, Sig, license the barrels so others can start cranking out new calibers. |

Is Sig shipping the new(er) Virtus' with black grip/stock on the FDE models??? I'd love to have the black -- I got stuck with the "FDE" furniture instead...

Still waiting for a 9” 5.56 barrel. Any word if that will be a reality someday?
|
|
|
No word on the 9" 5.56 from what I have seen. I was at Sig for a the MCX Armorer class this past December. It would be nice so you can have the same overall length if you want to swap calibers.

The black stock and grip came with the three we received a few weeks ago.

Looked through the whole thread but didn't see where anyone solved the weight discrepancy concerning the 9"-16" versions all being exactly 1lb heavier than the earlier generation. Does anyone have a real, confirmed weight on the different versions, or at least the 11.5" Virtus?
Also, does the Noctis have the same barrel profile as the Virtus or is it thinner like the older MCX's? Cabela's site lists the weight for the 16" Noctis at 6.9lbs but BassPro's site lists the weight for the 16" Noctis at 7.9lbs. This whole thing is really absurd, I've never had so much trouble finding out what a firearm actually weighs. Bonus: Does anyone have any experience running the 11.5" Virtus with a SOCOM RC2? |

I can weigh any variation that’s needed. I have a couple of MCX... just someone let me know exactly what they want weighed.
Weight increases with Virtus are, primarily, in the barrel profile and handguards. |

View Quote ETA @coregon I'd be happy if Sig would offer barrels in other calibers.. 6.8, 224v, etc not sure if you have any input or not, but Sig is missing a yuge opportunity since the MCX is the perfect platform for something like this. |

Will not shelter in place
|
There is also a slight increase when they added to the rear of the receiver on the left side. While the hand guards are heavier some of it may because more of the top rail covering the piston and gas block is now part of the hand guard and not the receiver.

We, typically, tend to stay with calibers that are popular in LE or MIL circles. That said, I dont want to necessarily speculate on what may/may not transpire in the future. |

Coregon,
What were the reasons for going to a heavier profile barrel and thicker and heavier handguards? I can take a guess that sig wanted the barrel to hold groupings when hot and the handguards to help prevent any zero loss with lasers but was it really that big of a issue on the original mcx? I find the weight difference between gen 1 mcx and the virtus to be quite noticeable and the 11.5 pistol virtus seems much heavier than it needs to be. |

Is that one of the things that was addressed with the Virtus in any ways that are more meaningful than a gasbuster styled charging handle? I mostly shoot 556-RC2's. |
