My birthday was this past friday.  My wife really threw me for a loop.

Didn't like the collapsible stock on it, so I put a Magpul fixed carbine stock with the long spacer.  Had fired another .308 with the Rock River brake, had one that was going to go on a different rifle. So it went on the SIG. Not sure of glass yet.

Just got a couple new toys.  My YHM can came back a couple months early so I bought a new rifle to go with it.

No idea what type of optic I'm going to go with, it's pretty heavy as is.

I bought it from the Sig Pro Shop locally here in New Hampshire.  They called it a Sig 716 3 Gun, but I see it's also called a Marksman or a 716 Precision in some threads?

The only thing I changed so far was buying a windowed mag and the new Magpul grip, didn't care for the curved Sig grip.  The Geissele trigger that came in this from Sig is amazing.  I've never had or fired anything other than a mil spec trigger and was amazed at how nice a good trigger is.

Finally got my 7.5" 516 PDW set up the way I want it;

It will remain a pistol, as it's intended to be my road trip gun.

I thought I start this Friday off the right way:
- Both are selectfire
- Both are SBR (We dont have that law here)
- Both have a B&T Supressor
That would mean 6 Taxstamps in the US?

Machine gun trumps full auto. Since the denoting of machine gun doesn't include barrel length, you can put any barrel length on a machine gun, so it would only be 4 stamps.

My Sig P716 Patrol rifle with AAC 51T Blackout flash hider, Geissele SSA-E trigger group, and MagPul UBR stock. I ended up selling this rifle. It as one of the heaviest rifles that I have ever owned. A lot heavier than my old Galil AR .308, HK 91, PTR 91, KelTec RFB, and FN FAL. Even with the heavier weight, it still had the worst recoil of any .308 rifle I have ever owned with the added deficit of the heaviest recoil. I don't regret selling it nor do I miss it.

How did you modify that rail to get it on your 516? Did you have to replace the barrel nut? I saw a modification thread on here once where a guy swapped to a mil-spec barrel nut to let him use aftermarket rails, but he had to cut some of the spokes on the nut to let the piston oprod fit. Very curious what your modification is, always been tempted to figure out a way to put a longer rail on mine. Ruled out the Lancer carbon when I handled one in a store and felt how large it was.

Gun smith created a barrel nut to remove the 516 nut. Cut the rail to allow the gas block to fit and opened up the underside a little bit to get the piston the fit. Gas block had bayo lug removed
