Hi folks,

New to SIG rifles, though I have done quite a bit of changing out of handguards/rails on ARs.

Just had a quick question:

How difficult is it to replace the forend rail on a SWAT 556 with a Classic handguard?

Thanks.

Not hard at all if you have an older SWAT Classic like mine, I change mine around every so often. The new improved version of the SWAT Classic has a toprail that's integral with the receiver rail. If you have the newer rifle you would have to replace the receiver rail as well.

Thanks for the response.

Any idea where I can pick up a top receiver rail?

How good of fit do you get with the classic hand guard?  Snug fit?  Thanks

My handguards have some slop.  I think I'll shim 'em with a little epoxy.
