how is the fire dot in daylight conditions ?  i've been thinking about picking one up for a build i'm working on.

It has 8 different brightness levels and it works great in the daylight and the best part is the dot is maybe 1 MOA so It's easy to pinpoint your target.

Nice. I just recently got the Larue 660HK mount for my 556 SBR too. I had the ADM low mount on it first, but the Aurora sights were hard to co-witness with so I figured the HK height Larue would be good to get it over the sights without being too tall.

Well traded a black UBR for an OD model, picked up a cheek peice adapter and ordered an OD cheek riser. This set up is great with my new Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4 in the PEPR mount.
These were Christmas presents so they will have to tide me over until I get my tax return and pick up either a Trijicon or an iluminated Leupold.

Zero'd it in at 115 yards last weekend. I was getting 1.75" five round groups with M855.

I got a couple of questions: who did your conversion, and what was the barrel length and actual overall length of the rifle for Form 1? I got a 556 cheap, so I want to do a SBR with it

Barrel 10" OAL 30.1"

I used a P556 upper with a Classic lower. No machine work necessary. I was going to send a 556 patrol off the ADCO to get the barrel cut and threaded, but a local dealer gave me a good deal on a P556 and I was able to sell the leftover Patrol upper on the former pistol lower with an M4 stock and buffer tube on it for pretty much what I had in the P556. It was more economical to do it this way for me and not have to worry about sending anything off to anyone or potential gas port issues nor muzzle outside diameter after cut down. Just pop two pins and swap uppers once the paperwork got back and a local trophy shop did the engraving on the spot for $5.

Sig 551-a1 with barrel shortened and pin/weld job done by Adco.  DTA Mil-brake flash hider/muzzle brake, Sig 551 handguards.  Lost a full 2 inches compared to the factory setup; fits perfectly in a Condor AR15 takedown case.

Clipped lower, MFI front sight, pieced together rear sight, panic era mags (bought ten of them, huge mistake), swiss handguards.
I just need to cut down the rail, put it back on, send it to ADCO to have it cut to 14.5 and pinned with a 51T blackout, and finally refinish it. I'm thinking tan-ish, with multicam camoform tape on the handguards and buttstock. Sort of a non-sbr legal version of the 552 in Inception, which inspired me to do this build.

Resourcing parts for this has been a major pain in the ass, especially since cogunsales decides to not answer phones or emails, and piecing the rear sight together with no instructions except for a blown up diagram from biggerhammer was a challenge. But the worst part was when my wife caught me taking pictures of it.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh, hi. Taking, uh, pictures of my gun. For my friends on the internet. ...a lot of people do it."

I will end up doing the same thing you did with your rifle... Except, I'm going with "Sig-Grey" verse black on the upper/lower receivers.  I've been looking for a Sig-551/LB barrel for close to 2 years now and I'm going to give up on ever finding one at a semi-reasonable price...  I only wish that they could be imported OR made in the U.S.

BUT!!  looking at yours, using the original Sig-556 barrel, it still has the "look" I always wanted!!
