I saw this AUG case deflector from Corvus Defensio and thought it looked easy enough to install and it was, except for the Austrian miniature star set screws to tighten the thing in place. Used a miniature American flat head and Lock Tite. Any way kinda proud of my accomplishment...lol

That's the validation I was looking for!  Thanks

No problem.

I've been thinking of getting one of these. But I like to be cheap some times. So I'm gonna try and make a brass deflector of my own. It may turn out horrible.

I hear you. The Corvus deflector is way overpriced. I just got it bc I hate the gouges the cases make over time in the AUG stock. The snap on deflectors lve seen for the AUG look ridiculous IMO. Good luck and post pics

I see you have the case deflector installed for a right handed shooter
I shoot lefty and have the left ejecting bolt
Would it be possible to install the case deflector in the left ejection port?
Could I invert it and install it on the other ( left) side?

I want one of those so bad, I just can't justify the cost. I'm sure I'll eventually cave and buy one

Yes, but now my ridiculous looking snap on deflector has all the gouges on it!

Maybe the Tavor deflector could be adapted, assuming you could find one?

Yes it appears to be able to install on either side ejection port, the Corvous logo would be facing down though, on the left side. The ring and deflector block each have stop blocks, so to speak, that grab the edge of the ejection port and then 2 set screws that counter sink into the deflector block lock onto parts of the ring that insert into the block.

It's worth the cost in my opinion (own 2 now.)

The shell deflector is very well designed, and quite a bit of machining is required to make that seemingly simple ejection port attachment plate.

Plus it's being made in small batches by a one man shop in Austria.

Just be happy the dollar is doing well against the euro

I agree, it's very well made and simple yet genius design... Steyr should  just incorporate them at the factory

Corvus says not to use these on the left hand ejection port or on NATO stocks, they are working on models for both.

You would then have to drill a hole for the mounting screw or find another way to fix it to the stock.

And here's the $5 solution. Attach a brunton bump (deflector) to the eBay kydex stock saver via a screw.

Nothing to break and fall into your action like the guy whose corvus deflector broke and ended up inside his gun.

$3 shipped for 5, and it makes me look like an Old West badass when i look to the right, thanks to the bullpup design.

I liked it so much, i ordered red ones too for black guns. Now my tavor, ps90, and AR sport them as well.
