I put a Sheridan slotted gauge on order.

I am still new to reloading, but have never encountered this. I have reloaded a ton of .308 with my Lee press and have never had a problem with any brass I have used.

Here is my question and please be patient. But how do you adjust the resizing die to push the shoulder back? I have always used my Lee die right out of the box. I am using the RCBS small base die.

O.P. Maybe I missed it but did anyone actually answer your question?  Here is how I do it.
- Raise your press ram.
- Screw your sizing die down until it touches the ram.
- Lower press ram.
- Screw the die down an additional 1/16 to 1/8 turn.

Size a case, make sure it's below the maximum case length and try chambering it in your rifle.  You may have to make another die adjustment.

You should be able to do this in any single stage press.

Regards.

OP said he gave up on LC 308 OF brass, I understand.
It's definitely not as nice to work with as commercial brass, it's hard.
It takes more work to get it where you want it, but its cheap, and once tamed its good stuff.
Not everyone wants to deal with it.

I've resized a LOT of 7.62 LC brass, because it's such a pain to deal with, I get it cheap to free.

Initially, I was running them through my Hornady die twice after a "rest" from the first run.

Now, I've built myself an annealing machine, and all the cases take a trip through first.  Now it's a one-time sizing, and it's a lot easier.

Dealing with the crimp and all the trimming is the painful part for me, not the sizing anymore.
