I used to reload .45 way back in the day when I started reloading over 25 years ago.
Seem to remember using Bullseye and 200-230gr lead bullets.
.45acp has been off my radar for many years now though.

I just scored a killer deal on a Glock 41 that I couldn't pass up.

So now, starting fresh again, I want to reload for this guy and hoping people can guide me through some potential bullet choices for a factory glock barrel.
Maybe help save me the trouble of buying hundreds if not thousands of bullets that won't shoot well. I've been down that road.

Mostly looking for decent accuracy and light loads are OK, but not opposed to mid and heavy loads. I'm not looking for exact data here, mostly help with bullet choices and possibly powder compliments.

I have TONS of 45 brass, and have already sorted it by small/large primer years ago. Probably a 5gal bucket worth.

I have primers and lots of powder choices, but may be lacking some of the good ole standbys I see people mention.

Powders on hand:

Titegroup
Bullseye
BE86
WSF
Longshot
HS-6
Power Pistol

My club has lots of powder in stock, so don't hold back mentioning powder not in my list.

I'm open to any suggestions you have tried in a glock factory barrel, even if it is hard cast.
Hi-Tek coated, plated, FMJ etc.
Looking mostly for accuracy and saving $ if possible, but not afraid to purchase higher end components if it yields good results.

Bayou Bullets 230 gr coated bullets on top of 5.2gr w231 shoots great in my glock 21 with no leading at all.

My current recipe for .45 is 4.9 gr of Titegroup with a 200 gr Rainier Plated Round Nose.

231 and plated bullets.  Berrys or Xtreme.

I use power pistol and Precision Delta 230gr fmj, works great.

I use WST and cast bullets. I keep checking for leading, but there never is.

WST  burns ultra clean for me. The brass stays shiny. Very accurate, medium power.

Powder coated normal hardness alloy (for 45acp) is working fine.

Plated bullets are good to go too.

Tite-group, Bullseye, Unique have all worked well for me.

For low to mid high range loads I use both Unique and TiteGroup.  For full power I use to use Power Pistol, however, now that I load 45 Super (with Power Pistol) I don't shoot full power 45acp anymore.

Thanks for all the input everyone. It helps a lot.

I was at my local club yesterday and was looking for Universal, W231 and Clays.
They did have Clays, so I swooped up a bottle to try. It was around $16.00, so decent deal. I forgot to check if they had HP38, as I seem to remember it is the same as 231. Will check next week when I go again.

I grabbed a couple 100 packs of different Hi-Tek coated bullets to try from my go to source Bayou. I use their 135gr 9mm bullets for my g34 for 3gun and pistol matches. Those things are tack drivers with a light load of titegroup.

Once the bullets get here I'll work up a few loads to have ready. Unfortunately, living in Commiefornia, my g41 is in gun jail waiting out it's 10 days. After I pick it up I'll report back with some results if anybody is interested.

Thanks again for all the advice!!!

I own a Glock 21 and have been using Tite Group to drive 185 grain Nosler hollow points @ 950 fps. This is a maximum load.

Check your overall length to insure you're not engaging the rifling when the round is loaded.

I also found that 185 grain jacketed wadcutters driven around 775 fps are very accurate with virtually zero recoil.

.45 acp is very accurate with match grade bullets.

Love my 41's, edc and gaming

3.8g ramshot competition under NOE 230g (236g as cast and powder coated) is my major pf gaming load.  Ramshot trueblue for carry ammo, I like the berrys hydrid HPs

Bit snappier then my 21's but much quicker splits.

Nosler 185 jhp 4.8 gr vv n-310, my favorite combo

You can use 5 gr of bullseye with just about any bullet.

stay away from lead bullets with the factory barrel.

I use 5.3 gr of BE86 with a 230gr Blue Bullet in my G21. Made 168PF at the level 2 match I shot in Sept. Accuracy was good enough for me to win my division (L10)

I have heard you should not reload for Glock ,factory barrel. In .45 because the chamber does not support enough of the cartridge and can lead to a failure. Because of reused shells. I don't own a Glock.

You can reload for a Glock factory barrel but i would limit the number of times a given case is reloaded.  I have no hard and fast number but would limit it to two or three reloads.

I say this because our group had four Glock 36 kabooms over a period of a couple of years using reloads.  Before anyone says this was due to overloaded rounds I witnessed the loading procedure

several times and verified that it was carefully done.  Two gunsmiths examined one of the damaged pistols and agreed that it was not an overload.  All of the failures were blown out cases just above the

top of the web.

Our conclusion was that the larger chamber of the Glock allowed the brass to expand more than in other firearms and thus it was being worked more than normal.  Who knows.

What generation were your G36's?

I've got at least 5 or 6 loads on some of my brass through a G21 Gen. 4 with no problems.

My standard load is 230gr cast or jacketed on top of 5.2gr of 231, with an average of 830 FPS.

I have a 30 SF. I have been running either the RCBS 200 grain SWC or the the LEE 230 grain RN over 5 grains of Unique.  No leading or feeding problems.  It is a light load, but works well for what I do with it.  They are cast from wheel weights. If I could afford Berry Bullets I would buy those (they are only 150 miles away from me), but I am a poor retired guy and have to make do.

Probably no later than Gen 2.  As I recall all of the failed cases were Federal LP but don't quote me.  Our group quit using Glocks two or three years ago.

I should note that all of the cases were marked as to shooter.  Everyone reused their own cases.  Reloading was done on one 550 with supervision.
