A Caldwell Ballistic Precision. And I already shot it. Well, one of the sky screen support rods anyway.

Didn't phase the chrono at all. As a matter of fact, I didn't even notice the damage until I was breaking it down to pack up at the end.

All stupidity aside, this is gonna be a great tool. And for $76, the price was well worth it. Simple setup, and the Android app works quite well.

A chrono is a fantastic tool for the reloader.  Congrats on the purchase, looks like you're putting it to good use.

BTW, I have the same chrono and absolutely love it and the app.  Makes it super simple to track the performance of my reloads. I've got 100+ 'groups' saved which for me translates to 1000+ rounds across the chrono, as I test in groups of 10 or 15 rounds each.

Eventually they all get shot.  I just nicked my first one and while it would "read" the first round it would not "see" anything past that.

got another one....going to be more careful....but I do know it will happen again if I do silly things with it.

Two kinds or reloaders out there .

Those who have shot a chronograph
Those who have not shot their chronograph yet

I haven't shot mine and have had it about 6 years, I did knick the rod like yours, though.

I have seen it suggested replace the metal rods with wood skewers, like used for food. That way the rod breaks, and doesn't damage your chrono. I haven't done it myself, but I've seen it suggested before.

Congrats on the chrono. Those are some nice numbers, you're obviously doing something right.

Great tools.  But I think your B.C might be off for a 9 mm bullet.

  1.0  b.c is up there with a .50 750 gr A-max.

A good way to not shoot your chrono is to not aim at a target. Just shoot through the chrono without actually aiming at a target. Ask me how I know this

BAH! Just a flesh wound. The funeral service usually comes after the first use with a scoped rifle.

So remember that your bullet's trajectory can be several inches lower than your scope's crosshairs show when sighted in at distance. Don't learn that the way many of us have.

The only upside is it's usually a quick and relatively painless death for the chrono.

The app really is pretty sweet. Very simple to use. And fairly intuitive if you're familiar with Android stuff at all. Even if not, a little poking around will get you where you need to be.

Thats actually what I was doing, and I still managed to shoot it. I was shooting the G26 at the time. If I don't pay attention, I have a bad habit of pulling it left. It was starting to rain so I was in a hurry to finish the string and pack up. It was the left rear rod that got nailed.

It was just a warning shot. I had to let it know who is in charge.
