Don't have much time to do stuff tonight but managed to get a batch of 9mm through my HF wet tumbled with pins...super nasty stuff that is nice and clean now.
Some is still quite dark/tarnished but it's squeaky clean. |
|
|
Knocked out the last 500 rounds of 9mm to make an even 2k. Probably take a few days to sort brass and then start another 2k of 9mm....same as every month.....

Bought 100 small pistol magnum primers, a pound of IMR 4064, and a bag of Starline .454 brass at Sportsman's Warehouse at lunchtime.
Loaded about 100 rounds of 9mm tonight. |
|
|
After 6 months of fighting off apathy about everything loaded up 200 rounds of 135g TC Blue Bullets over True Blue of course.
Also placed an order last month from Kimberlin Creek Bullet Company for some 125gr TC's and 230gr RN's. They are coated bullets and looks great, shipping was super quick within a week at my door from order. Haven't loaded up any yet, but don't expect them to shoot any different than my Blue's. Placed another order just now for the same mix. |

Resend out the primer pockets, trimmed snd then primed about 75 previously resized .223 brass.
My primer pocket gauges snd neck tension gauge arrived from Ballistic Tools and I’ve been playing around with them. Slick little tools, and seem to be good workmanship. |

Went to the range today. I shot my handloads in 9mm, .380 and .223. I fired 12 rounds of factory .223 to make some accuracy baseline groups, but other than that, all my loads.
Recovered all my brass. Found this orphan brass and gave it a good home Attached File |

I started shifting stuff from part of my shelving unit so I can fasten my Inline Fab storage dock to it. Moving stuff for a purpose is always “interesting”. When the Air Force moved me every couple of years, I’d find stuff I hadn’t unpacked since the last move. In this case I found where I’d stored both a spare (Colt only) 9mm bolt and my M261 .22 adapter. Great to know…
It’ll be a while before I can go out and get some Unistrut to give the dock a really solid anchor, but I’m making progress. |

Tumbled some 223 and 9mm brass that was really tarnished. Lemishine cleaned it right up! I also loaded some more 255gr SWC 45acp loads. 4.8gr of Herco with a Winchester LPP in mixed brass. I’ve still got close to 300 of those bullets left so I’m going to just keep going…..

Powder coated 400 9mm cast bullets (high humidity made it hard to get a coating). Loaded 200 9mm rounds of cast bullets. Tomorrow AM before the family is up I will load another 200 and prepared to swap over to 5.56. I got 750 62gr bullets and 2lb of powder (I have plenty of primers) The range pickup brass is already prepped and swaged so it will go quickly.

Received this last Tuesday. Just unboxed it and made sure everything was there. It's a nice piece of equipment. Looking for a way to mount this to the bench and remove it when not in use. As I have limited space between the Dillon 1050 and RCBS Rock Chucker single stage
Found a guy that used Star Knobs and threaded inserts that allowed him to mount and remove as he needed it. So in search of hardware now. Attached File |

Loaded up about 14 7.62x39 rounds using my 129gr PCC bullets.
Then, went and shot them. Hard to hit a 4" gong at 50 yards using irons on that ak without using a rest. Got 2 out of 14 on target though. Lol. |

APP press was running like a champ today depriming brass. Think I did about 2k 9mm.
Ran a batch of 9mm in my HF tumbler....going to be ordering the FART in the next couple weeks to keep up with the more than 5gallon bucket of 9mm brass I need to clean. Sorted out a bunch of pistol brass (mainly 9mm). |

Got the 1050 swapped over from 9mm to 45acp(SPP brass). Took about 45 minutes to swap everything and get the FF&F swage rod and backer dialed in. Since this brass is crimped(Fed, Blazer and Speer). Pretty sure I was camming over too much on the Dillon swage rod and split the threaded end(weak part).
No smear marks, looks good lol. Attached File Attached File eta.. After watching some BattleBots on DiscoveryGO with my boy. Got my expander and seater and crimp die dialed in. 230gr BBI LRN seated to 1.27" and crimp set to 0.470". All its left is the "plunk" test in the FNX 45 Tactical now. Attached File |

I ordered a new propane burner for the setup I use under my smoker, for cooking crab, and melting stuff lead my big cauldron. Was doing some large sinkers and the old burner was just not working well anymore due to too much rust and a crummy regulator. Got a new, larger burner off Amazon, got it installed, used it to smelt some range lead and finish up my fishing sinker project.
Now I need to find some more soft lead, preferably cheap and local. Have plenty of linotype, but need to cut it with soft to make good bullets. Also mulled over purchasing a ready made PID controller for my Lee casting pot. Would make life easier for sure... Turned a lot of loaded ammo into empty casings this week as well. Few people at the range with prices and availability like this. Keeping all my brass, even Berdan, as I fully intend to load some of that when I can get some primers. |

2021 can’t come soon enough!
Edit- well maybe 2020 wasn’t so bad after all..... |
Finished priming all the .223 brass I previously sorted, resized, trimmed and reamed.

unreloaded 230 rds of 10mm in my Delta Elite. Had two failure to feeds from weak recoil from lighter lead bullet loads, other than that ran like a champ.

A friend brought me a ziplock bag full of brass he had saved. So I've been sorting it by caliber and counting it. Also have 500 pieces of 223 I bought from the EE, that should be arriving shortly according to the tracking number.

Holding my position. On the "list", and proud of it.

Rolled a pile of rounds for the Kar98k...still looking at a lot of ready to reload brass for the M1903 Springfield, M1 Garand and Type 38 Arisaka. Being locked down in Ontario is almost a blessing. Not really.

Set aside my case crushing Lee Powder Die and Autodrum as a project for another day.
Switched to powder on the Uniflow and loaded 178 55 gr SP in .223 to finish off that bullet I my stockpile. Resized, tumbled, trimmed snd primed 117 .223 cases with mixed head stamps. I’ll use these to load bulk 55 gr FMJs. Tumbled another load of once fired .223 in walnut. I’ve gone from having most of a bucket filled with once fired .223 down to one more tumbler full. |

Went to the range to test some new 45 ACP loads, ran perfect. Picked up a 100ish 9mm cases while there. Then sized, primed and expanded 100 45 ACP cases. Got a tracking # for 4lbs of 700x.

Ran a load of 45acp brass in the FART then put it in the dry tumbler for the night. Hope to repeat that today after a range trip if the rain holds off.

Loaded 107 .223 with 55 gr Speer FMJBT bullets over H335, finishing off the stock of clean, resized, de-crimped and trimmed mixed brass.
Received 500 69 gr HPBT .223 bullets from RMR. Also unpacked a .270 RCBS Tri cutter head with chamfer blades from another package, so now I can process 6.8 brass. Swung by LGS and picked up a GP-100, so it’s time to start loading .357 magnum. |

Stopped by a small LGS during a short road trip.
Shelves were mostly bare, but I did chuckle at the ziploc “dime bags” of 100 9mm 115 FMJ for $30 a bag. I did buy a pound of H110 for $35, which is about my limit on powder. |

It’s been a while since i posted....i’ll put it all here.
Bought a National metallic tumbler so I could tumble brass at girlfriends house. Absolutely awesome for the money. Bought a rcbs media seperator construction is horrible but great concept no dust. Would buy diff manufacturers next time. Bought a rcbs rebel press for girlfriends house saw right quick this was going to turn into me buying everything over again so i sold it to her brother. He’s a cool dude now mentoring him in reloading. Bought a 20” white oak upper and a nightforce 4.5-14 so i can really test accuracy pottential in 223 Tested 75 gr gold dots handloads on a pig at 200 one shot drop. Bought a substantial amount of varget. |
|
|
Ordered a Swage It (SP and LP) for the 550.
Grabbed a few SRP from the LGS, apparently they've been holding them in a hidden stash. The closest reloading shop closed up so am having to make new friends at other stores. Seriously thinking about ordering an RT1500 for 223/556, Dillon delivered the 223/556 caliber conversion several days ago and the dies are...somewhere on back order. |
