I chronographed some of my 223 loads today with my PACT chronograph.  Things went good for a while  then they went south.  Erroneous readings (shy of max loads of CFE 223 w/ 55 JHPs at 1400 fps with a 16" suppressed barrel....I doubt it) , no stop signals.  I did all the voodoo that PACT explained to me during previous calls to them. IE shield the chronograph, have the signal lines separated,  plug the lines in, start first, stop second while chronograph is off, new battery, the only thing I didn't do is break some chicken bones and do a witch doctor dance.  I can say I never had a really good day with that chronograph.  It seems to be a very temperamental piece of equipment.  The timer works great!

I'll give it one more shot then I think I'll start looking into a CED M2.  I don't hear too many complaints about them.

Tried out my "new" powder measure while loading some 300 blk.

After cleaning and coating with paste wax it worked very well indeed.

What powder measure is that?
An older Redding 3 measure I picked up at the last funshow.

I like Redding powder measures if the price is right.

Today I made 2 more powder baffles and started working on a new handle for the brown PM.

Can you tell me about how you made it better? I recently bought a Redding measure and I'm curious!

Also, 1900 CCI SP primers.

Went by my LGS and picked up a lbs of 2400 and a lbs of Clays.
Grabbed the last 2 boxes of 53 gr V-Maxs they had.
Also picked up a like new 50 cal ammo can for $8 there.
They had primers which surprised me but were out of a lot of popular powders (H335, BC-2, HP-38, Universal and others) I learned after the 2008 election to stock up on all primers and rifle powder and have stayed stocked since then.

There was 3 different guys while I was there buying presses, dies and components to start reloading

I ordered 9mm and 45 auto from them at the same time. The 9mm has come in, but not the 45. I called them, and the nice lady said "Oh honey, those packages get scattered all over the place, just give it a few more days."   I had to laugh.

So, I'm going to give it a few more days.

Prepped about 100 .223 cases, went go to reload some and my Pro Auto Disk was throwing .4-.5 variances after it was throwing consistently over about 8 drops.  Luckily I checked after the 3rd round I loaded.

Said screw it till another day plus I was freezing out in my garage

Going with possible static issues.

Getting close to finishing up 2,000 Shot 1x and 1,000 shot 2x brass in 30-06.   Decaped, sized, trimmed and inspected (2 more hours needed for remainder for inspection).  If nobody from the family shows up tomorrow,  I will be doing the same thing to about the same count of  .308's.

Merry Christmas

Just cut down about another 220 9x19Luger to 9x18MAK, that brings my total cut count to about 1000 or so.

Checked earlier in week, only MAK left was USA WB at $23 a box.  I reload them with Berrys plated for about $6-7 per box.

My bullets from PD showed up!  Now my stash is complete minus needing SP primers :(  I should have thrown some on my Grafs order last month I guess but I didn't need them at the time.

250 prepped 223 cases. She cleaned the primer pocket, deburred the flash hole, swaged and trimmed!
This is coming from a 28 year woman that took her first shot a little less than a year ago! So proud

Looks like your girlfriend is a "keeper".
Darn right she sounds like a keeper!

I'm guessing most of the members of this sub-forum would be really happy to have a girl that would not only do that, but do it correctly!
