Loaded 100 rounds 45acp of coated bullets that i bought to test.
Reset dies loaded another 100 --45acp of regular old lead still have 1300 of these to use. So i'm set to run these. Determined the only way i'm going to get lead to work in my Lone wolf glock 21 barrel is to have it reamed Originally Posted By Doctor7474:

Sorted a foot locker sized Tupperware container partially full of range pickup brass.
This container is where I toss the free brass I pickup that other shooters don’t want. Ended up with 1.5 storage containers (slightly bigger than coffee can size) if 9mm, 1 of .45 acp, 3/4 of .40 S&W, 1/2 of .223, 1/3 of .380 and a single 10mm case. Not bad for free brass. Now if the rain will let up I’ll start tumbling it clean. |

My dad brought up a box of things from his father in law who passed away a few months ago. I got excited when I saw the primers and bullets and asked if there was any more reloading stuff. This was all of it, though. The .45 ammo was pretty cool.

Went to the range. FINALLY had good luck with my 458 socom. Turns out tightening the barrel to the receiver is important for good accuracy.
Took 2 shooters with me. One of them shot a 308 load work up I helped him make. None of them would cycle the action of his piston upper but the accuracy was really good. The other is a newer shooter who loved the 357/38 spc rossi. It is a good feeling telling someone they can shoot as much as they want because it is almost as much fun for me to reload the cases as it is to shoot them myself. Cost is irrelevant. I also gave some of my super soft shooting 38 spc loads to a woman and her husband. He was trying to get her into shooting more and was giving her factory 38 spc. Mine are much more pleasant. She shot over 100 of them with a smile. I got all my brass and then some back! Got home, tumbled the brass, sorted, and resized the 6.5 CM, 458 socom, and the 22 TCM brass we made. They are tumbling now. |

Further load development and refinement today for my 458 socom. Tried some Hornady 300 Hollow Points and 325 FTX's over Lil' Gun with promising results. Continued a ladder with the 300 HP's and IMR 4198 with OK results. Then I found what may be the magical load for my gun - 40.2 grains of RE7 and Hornady 350 Interlock FP. 5 rounds in 1 ragged hole at 100 yards.... with a 6th flyer at 1.3" of course . Also picked up some Barne's 300 TSX today.

My SO is off visiting family in a rural part of Virginia.
Today she texted me saying the local hardware/feed/sporting goods store had a clearance on primers, so she bought me a bunch of Small Pistol and Large Pistol Primers. I have no idea what primers I’m getting, but I will of course be greatful. I took a half day off and hit the range to test my .308 168 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips over CFE 223 loads. 43.5 and 44.0 grains both look promising for a 3-shot-1-MOA hunting load. |

Purchased some Redding dies on clearance at Bullets.com. Redding 6.8 SPC neck sizing die to resize all of the pulled/primed brass I have and a Redding .40 S&W die set. Normally I go with Lee pistol dies, but at 50% off I'm going to try some Redding pistol dies.
Also bought 500 pulled 180 gr .40 HST from American Reloading - at 25% off I can shoot reloaded HST bullets as cheap (or cheaper) than bulk plated/FMJ. |

Finally loaded up some more socom. On the left, 330g lyman PCC bullets with a plain base has check. On the right, 45 acp case with 220g of lead melted into them and swaged using 6.5 creedmoor dies and 45 acp dies. They weigh in at a surprisingly consistent 303 to 305 grains. Loaded a 5 gallon buckets of 38s. That will cover me for a while.
Changed the 1050 over to 9mm. |

Ran another 500 of 45. Finished out my supplies. Got the press all cleaned up on Thursday.
Ran the loaded ammo through case gauge last night. Packed it all into a 50 cal ammo can. That thing is heavy. Need to buy more 30's. Waiting now for my brother in law to show up. He wants to load some 45. Then will swap the 1050 over to the next caliber. Probably 9. Getting a little low on loaded ammo. for that. A while back, I had dropped a single small pistol primer into a 5 gallon bucket of cleaned 45 brass. Finally sat down this morning with a sorter and ran all the brass through it. Found the primer. Note to self, put the stupid lids on the bucket. The lid was sitting right next to the bucket. |

I cleaned up my bench and my work table so I could strip and clean two new acquisitions. And I realized that I have way too many projects “in process” given the limited amount of time I have to either load or shoot.
The new acquisitions are a pair of Taurus PT111 Pro G2s that replace a Gen 1 PT111 Pro and a Gen 1 PT140 Pro. They seem to be nice guns, but now I have two more 9mm pistols to feed, so I think I’m going to spend a while focusing on 9mm. I have plenty of brass and bullets for it. Not sure what direction to take my loads right now, but I’m researching. |

I got to the range to make empties!!!
I ran through some .38 and about two boxes of 9mm with four guns (my new S&W 649, two Taurus PT111G2s and my G22 with a 9mm conversion barrel. While I lost 10 9mm cases, I came home with a lot more brass than I took with me. Quite a number of Aguila .38 and .357 cases, a variety of different 9mm brass, a lot of .40 cases, about 75 5.56 cases, and even some .380s. And some generou soul left a bunch of S&B Tok cases around. I wound up with over 20 of them. Yeah, I was not terribly selective in what brass I collected today. Some of the 5.56 has the “A USA” headstamp, which I understand is Armscorp. Any experience with this stuff? The rest was either LC or FC made on SCAMP machinery, so it’s all good. |
