Hey Guys,

I'm still searching for the elusive 3 lug adapter now that I've finally got the stamp for my GSG5 SBR. I msg'd Christopher at ATI about a pistol barrel, that should be no problem. The 3 lug adapter is next...and apparently as rare as ...well, you get the idea.

Anybody got a Gemtech (preferably) or ProMag they want to get rid of, or have a line on same? I know the horror stories with the ProMag adapters but I am not really looking to run a can at this time. I am after the look.

If all else fails, I guess threading the barrel for the goofy GSG1911 thread and then doing a GSG to1/2x28 adapter to a 1/2x28 to 3 lug MIGHT be an option.

Let me know your opinions/leads/thoughts

It's a shame Gemtech stopped making theirs. Not like it's an expensive piece to make. Glad I got mine when I did.

Interested as well. Says barrel needs to be cut back to work.

I needed one for 5pk, so no mods.

Check out - In lead we trust.
He has both types, standard and threaded with thread protector.
$30 and $40 respectively.

The gsg is 9x.75 metric or something......to 3-lug with optional 1/2x28

Would love another source, but I did not see those at ILWT

I got the 3 lug adapter for the GSG from hkspecialist
. Looks well made and the rifle will be off to the machine shop for trimming of the barrel on Tuesday. I'll report back when I get it installed.

Update. According to the machinist, the barrel will need to be stepped (profiled) for this to work properly. Not a big deal, but even the GSG5P barrel would've needed to be machined. I'll post pictures when it's done...but, spoiler, it'll look like a MP5. BTW, unlike the promag part that someone was discussing, this 3 lug adapter screwed right in to the front sight base and snugged right up (without the barrel installed, of course. It looks really well made. Just a shame it took me so damn long to pull the trigger on the Form 1.

I went with a PK because

A. It will look like my reverse stretch 9mm
B. PK adapter does not require barrel mods.

If I like it, I will form 1 it. In the meantime I am going to mod an SBT5 brace to fit it.

I really like the SP89 look of the PK, but I was raised on 80s action movies like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, etc. I wanted that 80s MP5 look. What I SHOULD have done was do this SBR crap about 10 years ago when there were options out there from ProMag, Gemtech, and even 3 lugged barrels to be had. Oh well, while I don't have machinist skills, I know somebody who does.

Post pics of your 5PK when you are done, always looking for new projects.

that' too cool. I've got the SD version, and I form 1'd the fake can and made it real, went through the internals, HK push pins and sling hanger...I have the full stock on it, love it.
I don't know why aftermarket support has fallen off for these things, its my favorite .22 by far.
