If you do this can you attach a airsoft silencer if you dont get a stamp for the can?  or is this adapter only for a real can?

The Gemtech Adapter is for a real can.  I have no idea how different faux airsoft cans attach.

Thanks for the reply.
If I get the modification and dont want a can is it still legal or does the adapter itself make it illegal since you can just screw a can on it?

The B&T stocks fit perfectly with no mods seem to be made well.

I wonder if it would be possible for somone to put a heavy barrel on it and get rid of the can while also increasing accuracy. I would think a black shorth heavy barrel with microtwists would make the gsg a precision 22 and the barrel could be crowned to look right just a thought.

A couple of discoveries that were made while SBRing my GSG that I haven't seen mentioned yet:  The barrel is not press fit into the breach block, it is left hand threaded and will just unscrew.  Also, the rear cap of the fake suppressor is also threaded on.  Kinda' interesting, huh?

Happy Shooting!

I have a question, I just bought a GSG-5P and I know if I want to add a retractable stock to it, I would have to do it via Form 1.
But if I was to add a retractable stock that is permanatly pinned in the closed position with no possible way to open it (just because I like that look) would I still need to do a Form 1 or would it still be considered just a pistol still since the stock won't open?

Still has to be SBR'd as even though the stock is closed, it still has a stock.

Is there a silencer adapter for the pistol version?

Bomber-

it's the same Gemtech adapter.

Either way there's some machine work involved (cutting and crowning...see Gemtech's spec sheet above)

I ordered the gemtech thing today, and I also ordered a chopped/threaded barrel from the EE.

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=118&t=559164

I figure I'll be able to sell my virgin pistol barrel and flash hider to offset most of the cost.

Thanks Jackal2001!  You've made looking up "toys" for my new GSG really easy.  The Cope's link in particular I found useful.

Much appreciated.

I assumed the pistol would be good to go with the Gemtech adapter.  So, if you must modify it, once modified can you still use the factory long flashider or not?

The pistol barrel is approx 9 inches long

per Gemtech's instructions, it will need to be shortened to 8.27 inches and then turned down to .37 inches OD for the front .71 inches.

the adapter slides over the turned down portion of the barrel and threads into the same threads used by the current pistol flash hider.

and to answer your question...yes...you should be able to use the FH, you'll just need to take off the Gemtech adapter to do so

Are the official accessories any better than the airsoft ones?  I know that a lot of those airsoft manufacturers are making them as real and durable as they can get it these days.  Just wondering if anyone had any experience with em.

I didn't see this listed in the accessories here, so I thought I'd post it.

This quick release mag catch is really nice. Solid, slips right on, and is held in place with an allen screw (and the mag release on the GSG-5 already has a raised area for the spot the allen screw attaches to). I like it much better than the regular release, as it allows for the thumb to activate the release if you're taking it off with the left hand in a much easier/more natural feeling way (for me), and the trigger finger can also activate it and release the mag. It seems much easier now to change mags.

I ordered the quick release mag catch from HERE (third item down in the list)

I like the mag release...you grab the magazine with your hand and push the release with your thumb, then just pull down...

DAMN! They certainly are proud of their Magpul Ranger Plates!

3pk for $29.99

So the SBR barrels...would that be a Form 1 for creating an NFA firearm?

Had a chat with my local airsoft dealer today.  Thought I would pass on some info..

The airsoft supply chain is being turned upside down by the GSG-5.  Parts that companies were ready to discontinue are now in more demand than anything else.  Take the UMP stock for instance.  In the airsoft world, they were only marginally popular, now because of demand, it's next to impossible to find a UMP stock.  My local dealer has a waiting list abuot 30 people long.  Classic Army cant make them fast enough, and G&G stopped production of them (due to lack of sales) just before the demand skyrocketed.  Large dealers are buying up every last GSG-5 compatible accessory from the distributors, making it very hard for smaller shops to get anything.  Railed fore-grips, scope mounts and the like are in the same boat.

I wouldn't be suprised if Classic Army, G&G and others don't develop a whole line that is specificly designed for the GSG-5.  Stuff that fits right off the shelf without modification.

Would be very cool!

I am waiting for my Aimpoint Comp ML3 from LarueTactical

Cannot wait to mount it on my GSG-5P

Definitely more $$ than than the clones, but I believe in spending the money for stuff that will last

Ive adopted the belief that I wont spend more on a single accessory than I did on the gun its going on, myself...

That did come into consideration, but the nice thing is that I could swap it out and put it on my 16" AR too very easily with the LaRue mount

Question, SBR my gsg-5pk so where can i find a "k" grip that will fit? real ones don't fit there too short, the holes don't match up.
