Wilcox Industries designs some of the most sophisticated and
user-centric night vision helmet mount systems available. The first
reaction people tend to have is to balk at the price tag. Sure, it is
expensive, but like everything: you get what you pay for. Wilcox helmet
mounts are, literally, works of engineering art. They are designed with
direct input from US Warfighters at the very tip of the sharp stick.
These designs are refined until they reach perfection and are then
masterfully crafted in Wilcox’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
The Wilcox adapter for the FLIR Recon M24 Thermal Monocular further
enhances the versatility and capability of this popular thermal
monocular. The M24 is a small, handheld thermal monocular from the FLIR
Government Systems Division (military). It is extremely useful for
everyone from military to civilians. The Wilcox Recon M24 Helmet Mount
Adapter allows users to deploy the M24 in a hands-free capacity. This
is extremely useful during surveillance and overwatch taskings (whether
the targets are hogs or bad guys) where the user does not want to sit
there holding the monocular to their eye for hours. Since thermal
imagers are especially suited to detection, users can keep the M24 on
their head for observation while a night vision scope or clip-on sight
sits on the gun in front of them for engaging targets.
The Wilcox Adapter for the FLIR Recon M24 is a precision-machined
system that comes complete with interfaces for both dovetail and Bayonet
Horn helmet mounts. The interface can be swapped without tools. A
Dovetail Shoe bolts to the 1/4-20 threaded insert in the FLIR M24,
providing a low profile interface for the mount adapter. When the
adapter is not installed, the dovetail shoe is barely noticeable, so
handheld operation is not impeded in any way. The adapter arm provides
interpupillary adjustment while the vertical, fore/aft, and tilt
adjustment are handled by the helmet mount. The Wilcox FLIR M24 Mount
Adapter can also be disassembled and reassembled in reverse for left eye
or right eye coverage.
