I might have to get in on that. I wonder if it's the newer stuff and they haven't updated the pictures. I bought some with the updated Federal AE packaging. The headstamp is LC 16.

ETA: Of course they had to price it just below $20 so you have to pay shipping or buy something else.

I got mine today. The 10 boxes came in their own box. That box was put in another along with the 22 and a bunch of foam peanuts. The stuff they sent me is in the old packaging and marked LC 13.

That's still a great price though. The cheapest new stuff I've seen before was when PSA had it for 21.99 if I remember right. Most places I've seen it are around 35 to 40 now.

From what I've heard, Serbu has encountered soft brass with these rounds and doesn't recommend them in their guns, anyone else experience this? I found a round from the factory with a small crack in the neck as well.

I got my stuff today and the headstamp was LC 16. Black and white box, don't know if that's old or new packaging.

Got mine today. All 2013 stamped in the Black and White boxes. One sealed master box of 10 and the other 5 boxes thrown in a bigger box with no packaging to protect from getting damaged. 10 rounds have corrosion on the brass, about 25 rounds have little to no neck sealant, 3 rounds have large pieces of brass missing from the rims. I'm more worried about the ones with corrosion, will they be ok to shoot and not have weak spots in the brass?

Take some steel wool to the brass or some 1000 grit sandpaper. If the corrosion has actually eaten into the brass don't use it, ask for a refund.

The sealant on the bullet is in the neck of the brass. Most use some shitty tar sealant that sticks to everything including the bullets. Winchester used to sell their brass without the tar in the necks and added a packet with the brass so you could throw it in the trash. Now they put it on all their brass whether you like it or not.

The ammo that Federal sells is the over run from Lake City's contracts. That and stuff that gets rejected for little flaws like the ones you've got. It'll still go bang and you'll be able to reload it.

That's from sizing the brass, probably to much lube and it caused that dent. I've seen those flatten out after being fired.

Here's another one. Almost looks like the brass was pushed down. Then back together. I wish I could pull the bullet to see what it looks like inside. If it was 5.56 or 7.62, I wouldn't care as much.

It's going to be annealed and heat treated when it's fired.

After you shoot them, you'll be able to look into the case. If it doesn't show any signs of being weak/split where the dimple is, you can try to reload it.

If the neck doesn't split after being resized and a bullet seated, shoot it. You can also anneal the neck before you load it and the others.
