Got to shoot my AR-50 for the first time this weekend, broke it in with the brazilian AIM rounds, and those worked flawlessly, couldn't be happier. boresighted the scope, got on paper, got it adjusted all within about 3 shots (thankfully) and the following 3 were all touching so I was happy :) Yeah they're a bunch of surplus I bought from Wideners this summer when 50 prices dropped suddenly. They were $2.25 a round then and I just use them for sight in and a little plinking. I thought it'd be a funny pic. |

That makes sense, why don't scope manufacturers make them with the windage knob on the left?
Most shooters are right handed, and it would be more ergonomic. If you are a lefty, keep it the same as it is now. Who's with me? |
|
|
Windage and elevation are different on some scopes. That might be way there's no "lefty". Good idea though.

Well being that most of the new High end scopes have the paraplex adj (of focus) on the left side you wouldn't be able to do it...like my Mark 2 has the AO on the end of the scope so it would work, as I said this one is on the ocular bell so again it works...but as far as being with you on it....I am in, but the ones who design the scopes have different ideas... because they know best.... Well I would have to say Graf and Sons is where I get mine most of the time...shipping is like 5.00, some things may be a buck or two more than others...but you can't beat the shipping charge.....or last check midway had them for around 52.00 but shipping is 15.00 so unless you buy mega boxes...you don't save much...I am considering to reload the 50 but I would have to get the set up for it....and I have priced all the components....not sure I would save much..... Haven't installed them yet as I haven't gotten to shoot the damn thing in about a year. Looks good ! I have an Armalite scope mount on top of one of my FAL's and really like it... I chose the Badger rings for my AR50 because I had a set of those before and was really impressed with how rugged they were built. Judging by alot of the feedback I've read on the www, the AR50 sounds like one of the milder shooting .50's... so the MAX50 rings are probably a little overkill for me anyway. Should have it all together by Monday afternoon. Pics will follow shortly thereafter. |

I mounted my NF scope in a set of Leupold Mk-IV rings 10 years ago on my AR-50 and they're holding just fine. Less money and the machining on them was flawless, didn't even need to lap them. You might be able to see them in the picture I posted back on the 1st or 2nd page, great rings and they're backed by a good company.
