I will be putting my tax refund towards a new .50BMG. My question is which one would you prefer. The Armalite is cheaper. Is the Cobb more accurate?

I prefer the ar50. I do not believe the cob is more accurate. I would say with handloads, the ar50 has the potential to be way more accurate.

I debated this same question a while back when shopping for .50's, and after all my research and shooting most of them, I chose the ar50. I have ZERO regrets.

I am sure that they are both excellent choices though.

I will give you my opinion when the rest of my Cobb finally gets here! Does any one know what the wait is on an AR50? Cobb is getting as bad as JoeKen about getting stuff somewhere! I'm gonna buy another .50, but unless they do some serious rescheduling over there at Cobb it won't be a Cobb! I doen't care if it is the best .50 ever! Time counts these days! You want it right but you want it fast, or at least within the promised time!

I received my Cobb yesterday. I am impressed with it. Bigger than I thought but well made. I will try and get some pics up on my thread this weekend.

the cobb factory was moved within the last 5 months according to shotgun news. that had to account for some down time. we will see now that the first round of guns is going out. 6 months is what i have been waiting.

Pics yet? I'm curious to see what I'm suppose to be getting. Still waiting!

here is one for sale from a dealer http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976680441.htm two things i noticed that i didnt like were the gun is 9 different shades (glad i got mine painted) and that bipod looks weak. where is the old school M60 one that cost us $200.

I will be pissed if mine comes with all those shades that is rediculous! Matter of fact that is just not professional! Second of all mine had better come with a M60 bipod and not the sale of the month bipod from Cheaper that dirt!

Cobb 50, recoils like a .308, more accurate with all ammo types and not gas operated. Everything is based on an Ar-15 design, no weird parts or pins.

JJ, Are you comparing versus the AR-50 or your M82?

There are zero rifles based on the AR-15 design. The 50BMG uppers use an AR15 lower but that's it.

If I had my choice between the two I would get the BA Cobb IF it came with the M-60 bipod.

Heres a pic of my old FA Cobb at the range. The Fast Action didnt work to well so I am sure this is why they went to the BA instead.Other than that is still a very accurate rifle IMO.

Originally it was supposed to be semi-auto but they could not get the gas system to work.
