Same experience here- it runs flawlessly with Pmags, but is hard on the mag. Nothing unexpected there, since mags are consumable in the eyes on the mil.

I'm guessing the batch that should have been released by FN Novemberish didn't happen? I still can't find any for sale.

There is a regular 249s (not para) on the shelf at a dealer in SE Texas. If you want their information, shoot me a PM. I think they are asking 6K.

Correct, there have still not been any more 249S. I work at a FN distributor.

Thank you for the lead! I finally was able to pick up the M249S from my FFL. It's a beauty. Didn't think I'd be able to grab one at this point in time with the dry up in supply and soaring prices.
