So based on my research in this thread, the PWS SRX rail extension was most commonly fielded out of all Mk17 rail extensions. I'm no means a cloner, just curious - but what else was in use?

Correct. Also FN's top rail extension (not available), a few MI Rails and I've seen one photo of the MREX photo

Bolt and barrel are mk16.

Components that are proprietary for the conversion are the lower, bolt carrier, firing pin, and recoil spring.

Every time I feel the urge to buy a SCAR 20S, I just remember that I can always throw my Mk6 3-18 on my 17 and in my opinion, it's a very capable DMR.

I don't know that I'd really gain anything by getting a 20S, other than the collectible part.

But a 17 with a Geissele trigger and a magnified optic like that Mk6 is pretty slick in the DMR department.

Still ugly as hell. Not sure why FN can’t unfuck their anodizing.

Because anodizing doesn't match outside of black...is really hard...even then you see variations...

I forgot who was wanting to see pics of the cerakoted tan NF but I found them.  It was actually an nx8.  Didn't look too bad.  And yes not a mk17.

Interesting that they have a commercial SCAR and not a Mk17 by the markings unless its one of the test rifles.

Can confirm the various shades of black. Better than the tactical peanut butter in my opinion.  But krylon fixes things.

The receiver has a slightly different surface texture than the stock as well.

Nobody is talking about "matching" anodizing. It doesn't matter if the US plant ever "matches" the anodizing of the Belgian guns. Even the Belgian ones are all over the place. The point is for them to get something that even resembles "FDE" or "brown" and would pass for a useable color the mil would buy and makes sense. Aint nobody walking around Afghanistan with a golden gun lol. They might as well have gone for 3-gun red anodizing, it achieves the same goal.

LOL ... yeah because we civis are playing camo ninja warriors ... bahahaha ...

There are plenty of FDE SCARs in theater ... even the 50 shades of FDE SCARs ... my first SCAR was literally OD Green ... anodizing unfortunately varies from batch to batch ...

He's coming from more of a cloning perspective (cause you know this is a clone thread) in that he would like for the anodizing to match the mil versions as they appear to be completely different. More then simple variation in anodizing.

I get it...but I think there are certain reasons why that isn't done for civis...while sucks...it is what it is...

If anyone is looking there's a Surefire FH762SV-Scar muzzle brake and a AAC Scar-H-SD adapters list on gunbroker right now.

I don't think the AAC adapter is the correct tooth though?
