I know the scar 17 isn't the nicest on optics but I was how the MRO would be on a scar 16?  I'm currently running a T1, but I have a MRO I've bee thinking of using.  Thoughts?

The SCAR17 is the one which is hard on cheaper optics, not the 16. There should be no issues with the mentioned optics on the 16

Hasn't seen heavy use by any stretch, but I have a MRO on a SCAR17. No issues.

I shot around 1000 rounds (single and full auto) through a SCAR-L CQC equipped with an MRO one afternoon last summer.

It seemed to hold up fine... the program managers that I talked with had no issues with the MRO as far as I know.

Had a MRO on my 16 for two months (500rds) no problems at all.  I now have a VX-R Patrol on it.

I've had a MRO on my SCAR-L for well over a year.  No issues with it.

I did get my MRO and tried it on the Scar16.  I didn't love it so it ended up on my colt light weight and I'll keep the T1 on the scar for now.  I do like the MRO though and will have to use it to see if I like it more than the T1.

I have a MRO on one of my 14.5" AR's. While I agree that it's a great RDS, I just can't seem to gel with the thing. I run a Comp M4s on my Scar 16 CQC, I can't think of a better RDS for this platform.

I'm thinking of switching over to an MRO from a Mepro RDS for weight/bulk reduction.. any reasons why you didn't like it as much as the T1?

You know people say you can’t see the “fish eye” effect of the MRO, but I see it every time I look through it.  I’m sure it will be fine and shooting through it wasn’t bad but I honestly see the value in the extra $100 for the H1/T1.

Nothing made by Trijicon will be damaged by a SCAR of any caliber.

1,000+ rounds - zero issues.  I have several and they're a solid optic.

An MRO in a Scalarworks mount will be my next optic.  And it will be going on my SCAR 16.  It's a heavy pig as it is I think the MRO will be just the ticket.

Agreed, every time I pick one up, I am astounded by how heavy they feel.

Got the scalarworks mount for my MRO and it ended up migrating to the scar.  I’m loving the look and weight of the new mount.  I think the mro is replacing the T1 on my scar.

I've got a 16 and a 17 and I feel like the 16 is easier on optics than any of my ar's. Recoil is nearly non existent...

Firstly, very nice rig you've got there!

Secondly, I've got a few questions for ya.  How is that non-recipricating charging handle mod working for you, any issues?

Who makes that M-lok rail and rail extension, and whats the price (if you don't mind saying what you paid)?

Who make the M-lok rail deletes?

Thanks!

PMM makes the mlok rail and extension.

Bottom rail $85

Extension $110

Side rails $85 for the pair

Note: there are also heavy duty side rails and extensions for a bit more money, if you feel like you'll need those.

Magpul Mlok covers.

@AEROMechanic, I think @Daggertt answered about everything.  All the rail stuff is PMM as he mentioned, and yes, those aren't deletes - they're just Magpul Type 1 M-Lok covers.  I highly recommend the extension if nothing else as it really protects you from the gas block, which has burned me more than once.

The non-reciprocating charging handle is by GG&G and I don't think they make it anymore.  For the most part, I like it.  Its better than getting slapped in the hand, and it happened frequently on that crowded little hand guard before the extension.  I did experience a situation where I was running the gun pretty hard and got my index finger caught in the hooked clasp that locks the GG&G handle in the closed position.  Ripped right through my glove and took about two weeks to heal up; not fun.  I am considering switching back to the KDG angled charging handle I used before since now that I have a hand guard extension.
