Chopped to 10" PMM did the work, so I'm assuming they knew what they were doing

I’ve run a T1, M4s, ACOG, Elcan 1-4, and EXPS3 on my 16s and I ended up sticking with the Eotech and then throw a Magnifier on it when I want. It just seemed to suit the rifle the best.

The short eye relief of the Elcan and TA31 meant it needed to be mounted all the way to the rear on the top rail and it always felt a little awkward.

There is nothing better than a scar in stock form IMO. I’ll just stick with the super scar trigger and MI side rails for a nice QD socket.

Hey all, I’ve got a potential alignment issue with a cut down (Class 3 Machining) 10.5” barrel and a Sandman-S. I’m using a JMAC Customs KeyMo brake with Dead Air Shims and I’ve tried a factory Dead Air brake and get the same thing.

Should I be using a shoulder ring like on the 17? I searched briefly and couldn’t find any equivalent for the 16. I could probably get by with the 7.62 endcap, but that seems more like a bandaid fix. Any ideas are greatly appreciated, thank you!

Dead Air makes a specific hider for the SCAR. I would not use anything other than that. It requires no shims.

I’m assuming it’ll index off of the face of the muzzle rather than the shoulder then? And would my barrel being cut down affect that at all? If I can avoid spending the money to find out this doesn’t fix it, I’d like to do that. I’ll look into it though, thank you for the idea!

Indexes off the muzzle. Only way your cut down barrel would be an issue is if the smith did a horrible job.

Looking at having a 16S barrel chopped to run with a Dead Air flash hider and was wondering what came of this.
