You wanna know how I did it? . . . This is how I did it . . . I never saved anything for the swim back.

Almost picked up a vortex instead of the k16i solely to get another shade of FDE on this thing...
13.7" chopped and pinned by PMM, the rest is recognizable. Attached File Attached File |

So do all you guys swear by the KDG SCAR stocks? I probably have about 1000 rounds through both my SCAR 16 and 17 and the 17 can be a little brutal with the standard ugg boot stock at times and was wondering if the KDG stock would be better
I had an ACR at one point and loved the stock and was thinking about dropping the money to try it on the scar. anyone here think its not worth it? Thanks for the input! |

Been jonesing to do an MR556/HK416 clone for some reason, I mean, I know the reason, they are cool guy guns, so, took the SCAR out to snap out of it... pound for pound, its the smoothest shooting suppressed SBR I have ever fired... not overgassed in the suppressed setting and smooth as butter... sure, the gun "rocks" a little more and feel a little less in-line with the recoil than an AR, but damn it if it doesn't settle back on target for you and make it effortless...
Had mine cut down to 10 inches by PMM... he really does do some great work action shots... Attached File Attached File |

In case anyone was wondering how the new Magpul M3 Medium Coyote Tan magazines looked (color matching wise) like with the SCAR 16. Got to love the 50 shades of FDE.
However in person (camera makes the upper more gold than it actually is) the new MCT matches really well with the lower and there is barely any wiggle room when inserted in the lower (does drop free when you press the button though). If you have FDE/Tan Lancer L5AWM magazines, the new MCT is very close in shade. Attached File |

I hear the chrome lining in the barrel can be a problem. Just sent in my form 1 to sbr my 16 and looking at them for the work. Thanks! as for the gas jets, the 16 came back with the right jet, it's perfect and kicks brass out to the 3-4 o'clock like a fine tuned machine. Like, it feels like I'm shooting a .22 when shooting suppressed. The 17 was a different story, mint came back over gassed and was beating the shut out of me. I went 2 sizes smaller than what it came back with (I ordered a few smaller jets) and it's awesome now. Suppressed it's like a pussy cat. Best battle rifle you can get. I hear people talking about the chrome lining all the time, but all my ar barrels are chrome lined and have been cut so I think the chrome flaking or whatever people worried about was an old wives tail. PPM will take care of you or class III machining down in Texas. Both are awesome outfits. |

So, I love my accupower 1-8 on my SPR and was thinking about offloading my ELCAN 1-4 on my SCAR and replacing it with the accupower 1-8. The SBRed SCAR gets wonky with the BDC on the ELCAN at 600 meters with the 13 inch barrel and I was thinking I could squeeze a little more versatility out of the SCAR with a mil/mil 1-8 and run some 168s/175s for a change...
right now with the ELCAN my SCAR is pretty much a Gucci battle rifle and I use my .308 bolt gun for distance work, however, once I get rid of the bolt gun, that should leave room for the SCAR do try and serve as a jack of all trades blaster... PROS: 1. extra 4x 2. mil/mil so I can create some load data 3. 1x on the variable is very clean 4. Can run in a 1.93 inch high mount and clear the crap on the front of the gun CONS: 1. Weight (25 oz scope plus another 7 oz for the larue mount puts be a 2 lb optic) vs the 23 oz ELCAN... its not much but ive run the vortex 1-6s and they are beasts and I remember feeling it 2. Memorizing holds isn't quite as fast as using a BDC that is pretty close out to 400 meters or so 3. Rotating the cat tail isn't as fast as flipping the lever foward figured I would ask on here. Im a day time (sometimes night time) range clown most of the time... just looking for some input. thanks! |

Shoots MOA with my 77 grain match stuff. Maybe there was a burr or something in there, no idea if it was the gun or bad shooting on my part. I'll have to double check once I get home, but I'm almost certain I went down to a 1.6
Or 1.7. I think it was a 2.0 when it came back to me or something ridiculous. I went drastic to 1.6 and it tamed her right down. I'll get back on here when I get home on Saturday and let you know |
