Pivot point will be wherever you allow it to be.

The whole point of most human built structures is to redirect forces.

Changing the shape of the area of contact between these two moving structures isn't going to appreciably change the force acting on them or the function of the structures.

Why not impregnate a cut down .20 feeler gauge (Spark plug gap checker) in the bearing surfaces. Feeler Gauges are already hardened steel and would work for the long term. JB Weld it. Epoxy it. Create an indention to glue it in where the bearing surface is. A super simple solution for reliability I think.
