I am trying to compile a list of manufacturers/suppliers thats lowers are DIAS and LL compatable.

These are typically refered to low shelf lowers.

I've used bushmaster and POF lowers for my RDIAS

I wish someone would sticky your list, this seems to come up every week or so. MEGA has a low shelf lower.

I use Spikes Tactical for my RLL.  They make a good product and their biggest plus (for me) is the select fire pictogram markings.

I think the mega will accept the dias, at least a guy at the range had his in there and it wasnt modified to fit.

Stag's have a high shelf.

Bushmaster and Spikes Tactical (ask for one with a low shelf) are what I use.

I have a couple stripped lowers of each. I am planning on installing front pivot and rear takedown pins, mag release/bolt releases and pistol grip so all I have to do is "install DIAS and FCG". Is it legal to have a M16 selector in the receiver with NO FCG OR DIAS?

Essential Arms is high shelf.

The old SGW Oly lowers are low shelf but are not machined fully limiting the sear width (~.41").

ZM lowers are also low shelf but the sear width is ~.43"

As someone already said the Mega's are low shelf and have .5" for the sear.

It would been nice to get the width information too and make a table when we have all the data.

They are low shelf & will accept a RDIAS.

From pure curiosity, will a Cav MKII accept a DIAS?

My CMMG lowers just came in today. They are low shelf but my C Ray Systems DIAS will not fit in the lower. The side wall is to thick to let  my dias drop in. Up for sale they will go.

Mega Machine Shop will work.  I spoke with the owner of Frankford Aresenal and he said his are like the Bushmaster and Mega as well.

I have a BA steel RDIAS.  It works great in my Mega lower in the 1700 serial number range.  It drops right in without any timing issues and it works with 10 different upper I tried with it.

I also have an older Mega in the 600 range and it has a high shelf.  I also have a newer one in the MUR3000 range and the width is too narrow for my RDIAS.

I was able to get it to work with a POF billet lower but I had to put a smaller radius in the rear part of the lower to get RDIAS to sit further back to make it work.

My RDIAS was too fat to fit in a Bushmaster and Ameetec lower.  I'm sure I could get it in but I wouldn't be able to get it out easily.

The ones I saw were MGS2600's and MUR2800's if that helps

+1 to sticky this.

BTW, Doublestar lowers have the low shelf: RDIAS and RLL ready.

When my BM lower was getting tired. I built my RDIAS a new host using a Doublestar lower and the fit in the pocket was perfect so I went a bought a dozen at the first gunshow after that. I've got spare hosts for life, now.

Perhaps Nodak-Spud?  I haven't measured the shelf area, but it is low shelf.  (At least mine––it is an early run NDS-XM16E1 lower)

LL were originally designed to work with sp1's just make sure your bolt has the proper clearance , and it should be plug and play!

I would like to get a definative list for the LL. I see Colt SP1, Spikes and Double Star mentioned, what else?

Colt Sporter II, DPMS, Sendra, Essential Arms J-15.
Sear-blocked ban era Colts will also work with the block removed.

Noob question;  but if you have a high shelf, can you legally modify it to work with a LL or DIAS?  I'm getting ready to start my first build and would like to some day consider a DIAS.  Had been planning on using a RRA lower.
Link Posted: 5/3/2010 4:36:24 PM EDT

Yes, it's a common operation to modify a high shelf to SP-1 spec for a drop-in conversion or certain types of aftermarket triggers.

rra is no go without milling

Your list is inaccurate, because it does not distinguish low shelf (may fit a DIAS) from LL-compatible (has clearance for a link to move).

Some of those listed will fit a DIAS, but will not function with an LL without further machining.

All Colts before the unmachined web sear block introduced in the early 2000s will work with either a DIAS or LL.  If there is a pinned-in sear block, it must be removed first, of course.

Well that is perfectly fine but if you could please sort them out by DIAS compatible verses LL compatible we would all be great-full. I just combed all of the claimed DIAS compatible lowers from the thread. The only ones that I can vouch for are early Bushmaster and SI Defense

Post count: Low
Wisdom: High

I send every RDIAS/Lower combo to M60Joe and they get 'tuned' by the best guy in the business. Some seemed to fit but over time would get accelerated wear points so I now ship every 'new' one I acquire to M60 albeit I'm done with buying any more of them. At $18K+++ per unit, I'll spend 3K more and get a LNIB M16
