Cool. Now retrofit it to a bulldozer and add armor to the cage and you'll have a tank.

What's the plan if it's repairable and you are able to form 1 a DD?

Buy the other half of the tank? Or rig up on some sort of trailer?

That barrel does not look restorable. Look closely at the middle section.

Looks like they SBR'd that tank.  No bore evacuator, either.

There are folks who shoot 90mm guns out there.

Please let us know condition once you get this gun in the shop.

It appears to me to be some pipes welded up to look like a barrel. There may be some parts of the breech mechanism that may be salvageable. But, those might be worth something to somebody that has a more intact gun he's working on. Take it completely apart and see what you've got. Sit down with the technical manual for the gun and make an inventory.

according ot the owner, the welded section is to hold it in place in the mantlet as some of the recoil mechanism was removed during the demill process.   wort case scenario, with the breech section that you can see is complete with about 3-4 feet of barrel, seal the breech with a turned chamber filler and make a muzzle loader out of it.  3.5" ML cannon would be a nice addition to my shootable big bores.

Barrel way too short IMO

the muzzle brake design is from a very early gun or an "engineer" tank that was fitted with a dozer blade.  both had shorter barrels.

Or a buried-stuck broken track tank with engine problems.

Whats that saying?

"Everybody wants a tank until its time to do tank maintenance, which is ALL THE TIME."

I have a former Canadian 6x6 AFV for 'range maintenance' and I hate doing maintenance on that lil bastard.

But, when its running, its a rip-roaring lil Canucky bastard!!

That turret has sat out in front of my local army surplus store for at least 30 years.  I'd drive past it at least once a week.  Noticed this afternoon it was gone.  Glad to see it's got a home with someone who will appreciate it instead of it going to the scrap yard.
