Quoted: Quoted: It’s probably just a Sandman S with one less baffle That would be pretty funny I’ve been saying for years a sandman with four baffles would be amazing. K is 3 and a S is 5. Four baffles would be a perfect middle ground. With a 556 bore |

WTH does “take No Quarter in design, performance, and technology” mean? Where do marketing people come up with this stuff?

Quoted: Not the first time Todd has said this. Hmm. A more durable, 5.56 bore version of the Wolfman with HUB rear threads? Long mode for use on bolt actions, short mode for semi-autos. Takes Sandman endcaps. I would most definitely buy that. View Quote Yes but what does it weigh? Stellite rear baffles, Titanium front section? |

It's not like everyone didn't already know this was coming. We were hoping we could keep lid a little bit longer, but we're not going for the over-the-top big secret release anyway. |

Quoted: If I only had known we could've just deleted a baffle out of a Sandman we could've released this a lot sooner! Bwahahahaha View Quote I told you along time ago, throw a 5.56 endcap into the Sandman K box, slap a new label on the end of the box, change the engraving on the tube to match and call it good. Could have done this decades ago |

Quoted: Quoted: WTH does “take No Quarter in design, performance, and technology” mean? Where do marketing people come up with this stuff? They read Arf and Reddit of course. Well, it's Engineering here on Arf, and it's our new Warehouse Mgr. on Reddit (go give him hell, btw). So no, our Marketing Mgr. isn't hanging around here or 4Chan looking for market trends. "No Quarter" has been Dead Air's slogan for years and it represents our company culture and attitude. From the moment we entered the industry we had big companies and industry personalities working behind the scenes to sabotage customer and wholesale relationships. We've endured personal attacks and frivolous lawsuits. We've been attacked pretty continuously on all sides. But... we're not the kind of of people that behave that way so we instead focusing on giving "No Quarter" when it comes to how we design, market products, and take care of customers. When you see a faceless entity say slogans like that I can imagine how it can sound. I'd make fun of some of the more soulless companies out there for sure. We're a company of just a handful of people with a lot of soul and passion. For us it makes sense. |

Thank you Dead Air for including the QD mounts with the can. I'm in for a KeyMo version, along as it's not $8700.
|
|
|
Quoted: I assume that’s the weight with just the adapter. Which is 1.95oz. So the weight without any mount would be 11.35oz? View Quote Derp, my mistake including the MD. Weight is certainly reasonable. I’ll still likely pick up an ARX first but this is on the “to do” list. I need more 5.56 cans, I’ve already got more .30 cans than I do .30 hosts. |
|
I was hoping for a modular like Wolfman, but this sounds like it might be pretty cool actually.
With the new Explorr, the ARX and now this, the low weight 5.56 suppressor market is getting competitive. |
|
|
I think i want the one with the Xeno? Maybe one of each.
My number of cans already far exceeds my number of hosts. Would this be a responsible purchase? Lol just kidding. I didn’t get into this hobby by being good with money. |

I wouldn't have leaked it, but I don't think this info getting out was the worst thing. Basically just gave a bunch of guys a heads up to put a little cash back the next couple weeks so we can snag one.
Looking at the specs this can looks super appealing. Full stellite stack, HUB, and 13ish oz with xeno? That's a home run as far as I'm concerned. Your almost the weight of some company's 17-4 or hybrid material cans but have a known extremely durable stellite stack. And you guys were smart enough to do 1.375x24 threads.... I'm looking forward to compairing it to a Turbo T2, saker 556, and razor 556!...On paper it looks like it's gonna best them from an overall kinda aspect at least how i judge 556 cans assuming the price is realsitic... Everything I've shot deadair has always left me happy so I have nothing but confidence in this thing being sweet. Kudos Todd and DA.. Can't wait to get one... or 2! |

I posted in the other Sierra5 thread, the KeyMo version specs are similar to the Sandman S, albeit at 2.3 oz lighter.
|

Nice...
I've been trying to make a decision on a traditional/baffle suppressor for my WAR upper, thinking I settled on the SOCOM Mini 2. The Xeno version of this Sierra-5 is comparable in weight and I'm hoping the little bit of extra length means it has an extra baffle and corresponding better flash and sound performance. If so, as the marketing would suggest, I'll have to hold off on the Mini 2 for one of these. |

That looks sweet. My dealer just got my Nomad 30 from SS or I might have considered waiting for this. I might need to get one of these as a dedicated can for my 5.56 guns in the future if it works very well (and I'll assume it does).

i missed their livestream release of this can today, but if anyone caught it did they say they would have FDE cans coming? Everything else is great. i thought i saw where it had 8 baffels in it. said they could make a long and a k off of this so maybe that is down the line.
