Ron, do you cut AR barrels (to 12.70” for a Gordon build) or would you prefer to have that done already when fitting a collar and brake?

@k31user will the m4 can mate to an spr collar?

What ARE the dimensions/differences on a Gordon can? I don’t see it on the website

M24 and AEM5-30 have the same baffle stack per Ron. |

Gentlemen,
What’s the longest handguard I can use with a 16” Holland profile barrel w/AEM5 brake and collar? With a tape measure and my Mk. 1 eyeball, looks like a true 13” rail is the max. I’ve got a CMT 13” ARCA rail I’m hoping to use and I think I got lucky. Can anyone confirm? |

So I don’t need another can but I’ve had a drink or three here on my Friday night. Before I get a barrel cut to 12.7”, I want to verify…
I’m not interested in adding more length and weight above and beyond my AEM5 (Gordon being 1” longer and X grams heavier) so is there anything that mounts to 14.5” threads and utilizes a collar that is the same size as an AEM5 - obviously sacrificing some Db performance? |

View Quote SO you want to mount an AEM5 on a 14.5, or you want to get a suppressor that isn't longer than an AEM5, but mounts on 1/2-28 threads with a collar like the M4? Maybe an M4 with an AEM3 baffle stack? Could also make a shorter back half M4 that would mount on an 11.5. |

@k31user do you still have Gordon cans in stock?

I’ve heard rumors of there being a trainer aem5 made and living in a ban state (that I can’t leave) I love this news for my mk12 I’m building at least look a little bit more correct in my eyes.

@k31user
Do you have any more of the Gordon cans ? I just heard about these so I dug into my safe and pulled out my old m4 from back in the day before these things were cool again. It’s an original XM4 upper with the prototype style m4 feed rams and the A2 field sight upper and 14.5” m4 profile barrel , basically a 723. It’s already clone correct |

Finally have my parts together and have a question
BCM 12.5" barrel, custom collar from Ron, Otter Creek muzzle brake With a crush washer on the brake, I am at 9.5 twists to seat fully. My understanding is that means I should replace the crush washer with shims to move the muzzle brake back towards the collar to get the ideal 7.5. However - I cound 8 threads on the suppressor, and 12+ on the muzzle brake, so that means I should have full thread engagement already, correct? If I don't mind the extra turns, there isn't anything hurt by having 9.5 instead of 7.5, correct? Thanks |

I took a borescope and took a look and I don’t necessarily see any issues. I assumed the turn number was because of some internal clearance issue but there seems to be a lot of space. |

If I remember in my talks with Ron, 9 turns is ideal.

Perfect, thanks y'all. Taking it to the range tomorrow to send it!

Thanks View Quote Not to answer for Ron, but if the brake is screwed too far into the suppressor far enough that there are exposed threads in the blast chamber, those threads can get carboned up which could be an issue when you go to unscrew the suppressor.
