For the $$$, it's a nice piece of kit. Tight eyebox but thus-far works out for me. I need to get it out when the weather breaks to dial @ 50 yards. That's what I built this rig for. Tiny ragged holes would be great!

Seriously, I can't complain at all. As much as I'd love to step up in the glass dept. someday, this will do fine. I'm spoiled with FFP and side focus. Two attributes that cost a fortune with the big guys.

I think I've got ~ $425 invested in the whole enchilada (scope, Vortex rings / throw lever and paralax wheel.) The wheel is a 3D print job from a gent named Stewart in England. SMWEngineering Top notch guy to deal with!

Thanks,
Jim

ETA: This one is the 6-24, I've also got the 3-12 on another 10/22 build. Both FFP Veyron's. I'll have to post up some pics of that one as well. It's purdy too!

Thanks brother. And yes he does, I’ve been a Tony Kidd fan for many many years. Top tier rim fire goods, no doubt.

I need to get a shorter can for this but for now, it does what it’s supposed to do.

I've got the 3-12 on a pellet gun. It's a pretty sweet little scope for the money.

@Demphna2 Agreed, not a bad unit for the $$$ at all.

I did however have to add a 10MOA rail to the Chassis build for additional elevation. I may end up doing a 20MOA rail.. if the damn weather ever warms up to find out.

Carry on

My apologies for the late pictures.  We were some of the last neighborhoods in San Antonio to get power restored after this crazy snow we had.  I've been off the grid for a few days now.  Finally warming back up. Feels great.  That morning I had to take the opportunity to snap some fresh powder snow pics of my suppressed rifles before the kiddos destroyed our yard lol. I have no idea when I'll have the chance to do that again living here.  Enjoy.

I've been having the hardest time figuring out the gas on this thing.  10.5 LMT upper with Specwar 556k.  Currently have a Sprinco Blue and H3 buffer, FN BCG.  I sometimes get some FTFs, I've been running federal .223 hollow points lately.  Is it just because I get lazy sometimes and don't lube up my bolt?  I did a DEEP clean today and boy was there a ton of carbon caked on everywhere lol, suppressor was almost stuck on there too, first that's ever happened...she's lubed up for now...

I would try an H2 buffer and 5.56x45, not .223. Perhaps the bolt is not traveling to its most rearward position and is short stroking. Also, I've had some issues with the shorter guns and .223 Spec ammunition.(This is the most likely culprit) I have a particular 11.5" with a .070 gas port, and it will fail to feed .223 ammunition without the suppressor mounted. 5.56x45, it will fire and feed suppressed and unsuppressed.

I went and visited my jailed cans this weekend.  A young buck was teaching an old dog a new trick lol.  Just a retroish KISS build I slapped together from the 20 inch FN barrel someone gave me and raiding my spare parts crap.  I'm happy with it and the Turbo K keeps it from getting too long where it makes sense to have a K can instead of the a full size one. I really should try the Turbo K plus the R9 direct threaded on there at some point to keep weight and length down.  I also tried my Octane 2.0 out on the 22 mag bolt gun because why not?  It honestly sounds about the same as my MASK but its nice to have options so I can leave the MASK on another rimfire host at the same time if I want.

Is this the first SF AR10 with a piston system on arfcom? Could be.. If I can get this to run reliably will it replace my bolt action I leave at the deer camp? possibly...

I need to weigh it but its lighter than the LWRC MKII.

I don’t know too much about it, unfortunately.  Right behind the gun, on the door, it says Victor Safe & Lock Co. Cincinnati, OH.  My dad got it 25-30 years ago from the place where he was working, they were getting rid of it.  It’s very heavy but still in proper working order.  It was probably made somewhere around 1900.
